How old is your comic? And what kept you motivated to hold onto it?

I would say that I have been considering the story of my characters from Cambion for about ten years now. The story has gone through tons of revisions and I've tried writing it as a novel about three or four times as well as a different comic once. The rendition that I'm currently on began in November or 2011.

I think I'm motivated a lot by just how long I've been working on it. It feels like it would be a waste to stop now. Not only that but there are certain plot points that are kind of my goals. It would be a shame never to draw those plot twists.

Ah, well, I was very enthusiastic about reading at the time and figured the best way to tackle my project was by writing. I think the main reason I turned to drawing it was both because I had a difficult time describing things I wanted the reader to perceive it and because I had noticed how arts who draw comics can have some extreme growth as the work goes on and I honestly wanted to take advantage of that because I was feeling stuck with my art.

Yeah i know what you mean with extreme growth. Like i mentioned i started posting this a around a year ago and now i have to redo the first 10 pages because the style and quality on them just doesn't match with the rest :/

I've had the story for Dead Man's Party in my head since high school (2000~2001)!

At first it was just an illustration collection of the 72 Spirits of Solomon. Back then, the main character was a demon in a top hat called Mephistopheles. Eventually I go to college and read more books and realize how cliche and boring that was.
Around 2011 I wrote a one-shot of Dead Man's Party and sent it off to SQUARE's new talent competition. Obviously I didn't even make honorable mention as it was my first attempt at drawing manga, and it was terrible. But I learned during the writing process that this was a world that would not simply fit in a one-shot, so I started the current rendition around October 2012.

Why do I keep going?
Because I don't want to be on my death bed thinking "man, I should've finished that book". Simple as that.

Honestly the idea for Room for Improvement is a really old one. I think maybe like 5-6 years old. When I was a young lad I used to draw comics and other stuff during class (still do). The characters were developed more recently, the old character were nothing like what you guys see. For one, they were all white with black eyes and black mouth. Think Arty Purpull but with no color. When I started on Tapastic I wanted the characters to be distinct from one another so I made each one different. My friend saw my old comics and said I should start a webcomic and I was like oh ok cool. Eventually I started to like my characters so I kept on and here I am know!

Truth be told, the idea for The Chronicles of SolLuna has been around since 2009, and after trying to start the comic, only for life to get in the way, and several restarts later, I officially started my comic last year, but had to do a short rework of it into the current form that you see now.

its been a crazy adventure to me, and it's been only last year when I decided to make it an actual comics / self publish / "try" selling http://tapastic.com/series/Subject22 in cons....and one thing I learned : it is pricy to print em! that's why im "sorta" sticking with online publishing

what motivated me? I guess it's my passion to share to the world my crazy stories, from superheroes to zombies plus quite excited to just post stuff here

Hmmm... The very first idea for Fallacy came to me in high school, so about 5 years ago. But it was terrible back then. :'D No really, the whole plot was one big mess and I stopped developing it after a year of on/off working and let it sorta die even though I did still occasionally think about it.

Then about 2 years ago I decided to start working on it again and did a huge revamp. Only few characters and the central themes survived it actually. But I'm really glad for it because that allowed me to turn into something (hopefully) interesting and coherent. I think that the first version allowed me to try a lot of the things that wouldn't work and figure out what sort of a story I want to tell. I started drawing Fallacy about 1 ½ years ago.

And I guess that's a big part of what motivates me. I've figured out a story I really, really want to tell to others. Plus, this allows me to combine my love for history, mythology (Ancient Scandinavian setting with things borrowed from Norse mythology :3) and passion for drawing and getting better at art.

For Demon House I came up with the idea about 5 months before I started to post it. For Heavy Horns, I posted a teaser chapter image first, waited for a response from the community, then developed a story line within a week (terrible I know).

My motivation is that I have pretty much all the script done for them, so I really have no excuse not to complete them.

But for the other story ideas I have in my head that are sweeping epics, I have been developing them since 2008, and I want them to be near perfect before I start drawing them.

The Lostland launched on Dec. 21, 2011, so I'd say it's almost 4 years old now. What kept me motivated to keep working on it was the fact that I wanted to see the end of the story, really, because it's a pretty cool ending(at least I think so, it just might suck and all my readers would be gone before then, but hell...). I guess also because I'm stubborn and refuse to leave it unfinished.

The made the first version of University of Speed way back in 2007. I wasn't that happy with the story and there wasn't enough feedback from people (my friends never bothered with it since there wasn't any ninjas in them), so I lost interest and stopped after 1 chapter. Then I adjusted the story and remade it January 2010 inspired by my love for cars and what might they be in the near future. Again there wasn't any feedback from my friends (it wasn't anything like Naruto or Bleach), that's when I decided to go upload it online. I uploaded it in Smackjeeves where I got some feedback from fans. I may have a small fan base there, but god they are talkative.XD I just got here in Tapastic last month and it's doing better here in the same time frame compared to the other hosting sites. Now as to what keeps me motivated to U-Speed, I think its because the racing genre in webcomics is rare and that it makes it easy to be unique compared to others. To give people something they might find different than the usual. To see readers enjoy every page I pump out motivates me as well. So my comic is 5 years old now and hopefully I can continue making new pages for it.

The storyworld and universe of my comic is at least 10 years old. It was completely different back then, about parakeets who lived in a castle made of green stones. I was inspired by the Redwall series by Brian Jacques, and also my pet parakeets. I gradually began expanding and adding different races of animals. Eventually, the story world was too complex and kinda strange, and I began reducing content and making it more sensible. I took out the parakeet characters, and most of the other animal species. The focus shifted to the fox-people. After tons of refinement and research, I can say my storyworld is what it is today. What kept me motivated to work on it was the interesting escape, and playground for which I can reinterpret things I've learned. Also because if I were to get rid of it now, I'd have "thrown away" almost half my life's work.

I was motivated to begin making it a comic series and posting it online after I determined not too many people would want to read it in its original novel form. It's more accessible this way, and because I'm an art student, it would also allow me to use my skills in that field as well. The first page was posted on tumblr late last year, and on tapastic around July 5th this year.

Not sure how it actually come why I started drawing comics,perhaps I had a little too much fun with my friends.
Anyway , I started them 2 years ago somewhere in winter. I liked it so much that I wanted to make it in a actual comic series, however I wanted to make it a bit more serious and that well....it failed XD. I still continue to try to make daily life stituations into weird funnies or just a comic. Because well....EVERYONE has some weird inssues once a day/week/month/year.Specially me, I seem to attract them....so I basically make my life into a comic, with some side characters and ...my cat. I hope to continue further until I think the end has neared , but that won't be for a loooong time.

Mine is Two Faced,
I've had the main character for about 15 years? The story changed ALOT.
First I started drawing the comic on my Dsi when I was in my teens and uploading it to Flipnote Hatena (You can see it here)
What drove me to keep making episodes was the fans, they just loved it, and I loved their comments, which I did make up to 107 episodes, untill Hatena shutdown, but I still continued to make them
after keeping in contact with the loads of fans I had on there so they could still read it.
Then I started it drawing it into comic pages, which they look terrible, I stopped around the 5th chapter because of
feedback I got of people saying the beginning was very confusing. So I went back, it took a while to sort the plot and story out.
Eventually I started it like I am now...

I've always had this idea of the universe, and the big question "why are we here" and "what is the real meaning of light and dark"
etc. I just have to need to tell my story.
