Hello! Hope you guys had a good new year and such! So anyway, I been doing the #100headschallenge and I really like how I drew these from references. However, once I'm done with the challenge, I have a feeling that I'm gonna lose this style while drawing my characters or drawing in a different medium. How can I keep this style? I been getting some love when I draw this way and I think it looks lovely imo.

Draw your chars multiple times trying to replicate the style! Once you do it enough times you'll get the hang of it. They look great btw!

You could always just scan the work and level the inks so its good for digital.

I tried for YEARS to draw digitally and stopped because I just didn’t like my lines digitally and I think making the switch was a huge game changer for my career.

There are a ton of artists who do this, especially cartoonists. Half the people I know outside of webcomics and in more professional circles do their inks traditionally.

I can see from the picture on the left that you have a semi detailed art style, maybe keep in mind to keep things simple like not shading in ears, make the hairline solid and not several lines, more boxy faces, and don't add the bottom lines to the eyes.

It has a nice linework, keep that in mind. It wouldn't be the same with a thiner line. Keep the shading simple.

You'll have to practice maintaining the style and continuously evaluating your work to ensure that it "fits" within that style, of course! lol. Sadly, there's no mental "switch" you can flip to "freeze" your artistic style. And besides, even if you do fall in love with a style, you might not want to try such a switch if it existed. You can try and maintain a favorite style, naturally, but it's always good to continue to be open to other influences, of course. :3
