Instead of Man x Boy just reffer to it as how most people refer to it, just BL, since its not even a big gap nor something so controversial when both characters are adults. If you say Man x Boy, many aren't going to bother checking your story nor the actual age difference you're mentioning at all and simply assume this is somewhat a Lolita situation, with a very underage boy, probably a kid, nor even a teen and an adult man. I don't know if you're a minor yourself or someone that just recently became legally an adult but... I don't know this is kind of pretty obvious at least to me
You need to think better about how you're currently promoting your series, maybe it would be best to edit all your posts calling your series a Man x Boy story, not to mention some from the LGBTQ+ wouldn't like to be associated with controvertial, problematic content. This is mostly to avoid yourself getting in trouble over something that you didn't realize and regardless of being a mistake you should fix.
So basically:
- Fix how you refer to your own series
- Edit previous posts and wherever you referred to your series as such
- Avoid using images taken from the internet, some of them are artwork by other people, unless its free to use or you have permission to use, don't.
- Your cover doesn't seem to indicate this is a BL, fantasy Omegaverse story. It seems to be more of a thriller, murder and supernatural story, it would be best if you go for something that actually matches the contents inside of it.
- Try to read other stories in the platform to have a more professional look, so far, and I try to be respectuf, the way the synopsis and how chapters are arranged feel like this is done by a minor in Wattpad or those old 2016 Yaoi forums.
- This is not TikTok, so the warning in the synopsis is unnecessary
- Avoid using emoticons and kaomoji in your story, its distracting and won't look appealing to the average reader in Tapas.
- Remove attached image files on yuor episodes, due to the different images that you're using your series lacks identity. Combining anime images and then stock images of In Real Life people clashes, and even a bit harder with the immersion of the reader. (As well, since this is a BL mature work, avoid using irl pictures of children, no matter if they're stock or from the internet)
- Wording and Grammar in the Episode's titles is important too, it would be best to write "properly" otherwise people are going to assume you write just like that for the contents of the episode
- Have a steady posting schedule, most of people like to know when your series is going to update, people don't feel like reading much if they read one day and two days there is an update, you'll make it feel more like a task than something enjoyable. So, be more organized, post once a week in a specific day, schedule your episodes if you have them ready already.
This is what I can think of when it comes to your appearance, presentation, and average looks for when people are going to see your story and judge if they'll read it or not.
Then promoting is a bit more simple, but still, you'll require to check out what I wrote above otherwise this stuff is not going to help much either. Joining communities, forums, servers for readers/writers (Focus in being a reading place or having a secondary account to pretend to be a fan of yourself)
- Sharing on your social media everytime you make a new episode
- Joining writing spaces, be it for readers, fellow writers. Communities, servers, forums, reddits, etc.
- Try to be less informal, the way you write makes you look like you're either a kid, or the classic stereotype of a fujoshi (Not trying to be rude, but is because some writers take their job quite seriously and would expect others to be the same at least to give a read to what they do)
