I ignore them personally, you're not obligated to respond to negative feedback if you don't want to.

comment back, "if my comics trash then why are you here reading it?". If they reply back with something rude then say, "your not worth my time, talk to you never again" and block em.

thats how i get rid of my haters.

Ignore, and if that person repeats, you block without giving them the joy of a single reply.

What comment? I don't see anything? 🤣:smiling_imp: Yes, ignore it. Sometimes mean comments have some harsh truths but this is just nonsensical hate.

Btw you comic is gorgeous!! Looks very professional. They are probably jealous.

As many already said: Ignore them or fight them with their own weapons. The moment they see they have no leverage on you, they will move on.

I can tell you from my own standpoint because I had these kinds of comments on some of my older projects, and I concentrated too much on them. They took me down and I lost the fun to continue working. It took me a while to come back, but now that I show, I don´t care, there are a lot fewer of these comments.

Just ask if their mom knows they're on the internet without her permission

Just as a general rule: blocking people on any platform is not childish! Sometimes (tbh a lot of the time) the best course of action you can take towards random strangers who make you uncomfortable on the internet is to just get them out of your space, especially if you don't engage first.*

'But they won't know why I blocked them!' Yes they will. 99% of the time (even if they say otherwise) they know what they're doing.

'But won't that make it seem like I'm not brave enough to face them??' A, it doesn't matter; you don't owe anyone 'proof' of your emotional maturity. B, even if you legitimately aren't brave enough to face them, it still doesn't matter. Again, who are you trying to prove yourself to??

'But they'll just come back...' Block them again. In my experience, it takes much more effort to make 10 new accounts just to harrass someone than it takes to block 10 people. You have the advantage.

*As other people have said, ignoring them is the best option: the most important thing to do anywhere is to not give people like that your attention. If you can make it easier on yourself by hiding/reporting the comment so you don't have to see it, definitely do so. Chances are it'll just be a one-time thing anyway.

But in the event that it isn't...see the above.

totally agree with this (and the last paragraph too!). I think blocking makes the comment go away and if that does happen: 1. you don't need to see it. and 2. other people don't need to see it.

If I read something I don't like I don't comment, especially in that manner!. It's too bad other people do this. So sorry it happened to you. Take heart, looks like a lot of people have your back and are willing to stand with you. Keep creating, that's what's really important.

I have not experienced any of that (luckily :cry_01: but it'll come probably) some of the things I could think of is being silly with them, or being annoyance to them, ignoring them , or being a "therapist" lol and what I meant by that is talking to them but who wants to do that :doggo_shook: (lol)

But jokes a side I agree with many here who have commented
if you feel like it is bothering you than you should block or delete it , it isn't childish ( well I guess depending on the situation that is) because you are taking action on what makes you feel idk down.

Like what joannekwan has said don't give them that pleasure/satisfaction, it'll most likely be an endless cycle between you and whoever that person was

Summary

(I won't lie I Have experienced something similar in a way that was negative but it wasn't any of my platforms that I have created it was more of talking about a persons ideas :pensive:)

Sorry! I didn't mean it like that..

Just I'm not sure if its a troll or someone felt hurt about my comic, and I thought I should either find out why they feel that way or just ignore it.

Nah, if they can't articulate their criticisms in the slightest, then they aren't worth listening to for you to grow as a creator.

If someone has actual valid issues with your work and they want you to know, they'll explain it. That comment isn't helpful at all, so it's not worth pursuing.

I'd slap that little thumbs down button :sunglasses:

real talk though, ignoring is usually my go-to for one-off things (or on platforms that you can spot-remove comments, then sometimes I do that. I've done that one Instagram before). If they continue to harass you over several episodes then blocking is good if available!

It's time to learn blocking is not childish. It's keeping your mental space clean and tidy. Sure you can go ahead and ignore this, until one day you might snap at a random commenter putting down something less than pleasant.

Maintain your social media experience, use that block button and move on.

They can go suck a dick. Not sure if it's an option but just delete it and sometimes blocking them would be best because they can continue to post comments like that again.

Ah it's on webtoon, that makes it all the more annoying because you can't delete it. I'd give them a thumbs down and ignore it, unless they keep commenting this on every episode. Then you could try and report it (and hope webtoon actually listens)

((If it makes you feel better, I dealt with the same thing when I started my first comic on webtoon and it was not fun
