First.
This is not a thread about good or bad personal taste.
This is not a thread about Premium Vs. Free to read.
This is about learning how to make content that the targeting group of readers that Tapas has collected by their Premium series.
It all started with me getting curious about what made premium series premiums.
So I started to read some.
I found out quickly there is a swarm of BL/romance readers that basically just takes anything with a BL tag on.
To test that I made The Last BL Comic
And I gain quick subscribers. But very few of them even hit a like or give a comment. And none of them supports me with Ink?? They are just happy readers and there are tons of them.
But I’m no BL writer. And I’m tot good at writing drama for the sake of drama. I want something deeper and something with worldbuilding and intelligent plot twists.
So I tried a Tapas Premium Fantasy comic.
And oh my... I was in for a ride.
I found ”Queen Of Gods”
I’m still stunned by the art and story. I’m no artist so I tried to learn from this series to see what it takes to make a fantasy world that the premium reader would like.
The problem is when I do, I have a hard time to stay in the grid and I just keep on going crazy with all kinds of ideas but I missed the plot.
I have to write a book about the world first. Then write a book of characters. When I have this D&D setup then I can start to write the main story.
Also, I need drama. And what this story did was making it a family drama where you have to choose life or death. Oh my! Poor romance reader I thought. But it seems that the story did the right use of known drama to balance this.
Can anyone rely on this? Do you know what kind of rules I need to implement or avoid? Do I really have to include BL?
Let’s talk about how we can learn from all of this.
And please advise some Premiums to learn from.
