How do you use content warnings? Would a general warning at the start be enough?

For context, I plan to release a comic that revolves around a lot of heavy stuff. The episodes would be rather short so putting one at the beginning of each episode would be overkill.

Here on Tapas, you must place warning signs that revolves around sexual content. I however, have a fair number of violence in my comic and I didn't put any warning signs and so far, all is good. Just try to be cautious on scenes involving sexuality.

I just say my comic contains mature themes in bio (nudity, language, violence) and put a mature filter warning over pages that are mature.

I should probably specify that it will be things like abuse, bullying, homophobia occasionally and other stuff but there will be no sexual content nor violence shown that is bloody so I doubt I'll need to use the site's mature filter. It's more for letting readers know what they're getting into.

I put #triggerwarning as a general warning for the story to cover most of my bases just in case. I haven't made any specific warnings because, honestly, I feel like its a little bit of a spoiler (which is not always a popular opinion.)

It may depend on the story but I agree with you. In my case, my story is built around those subjects.

You can use mature things for sexual content/gore that's particularly noticeable, but for specific warnings, usually people make an image file on top of each episode that's relevant, or a general warning that entails the next few pages. For example tw: arachnophobia as text before the page, maybe with a white picture in between so someone won't open the phone and immediately see the potentially disturbing content.

I made a little trigger warning picture with the reason in the description.
I upload as a chapter scheduled to release about 10 minutes before the chapter in question, so it can't be missed.

I put a warning at the beginning of my series just to let potential readers know that, despite being about cute little animals, SHILO has some very mature content.

The warning reads:
"SHILO contains scenes of graphic violence, blood, adult language, nudity, and other potentially upsetting themes which some humans may find disturbing. Reader discretion is advised."
Followed by this image (may need to click to enlarge):

And if I were to link my series (doing so here for an example) you'll see that I made sure to put a disclaimer at the beginning of the description:

Aside from that, I don't put a warning on my individual pages. But I will mark it mature if it contains more than just a little blood, or if there is heavy language or other dark themes such as those of abuse.
