Hi guys, I've bumped into a problem...so recently I've started writing again, I'd like to have a story outline and eventually let the writer I've been working with have a look. She's really busy so I don't want to bother her. Anyway~~ fellow writers or artists, just fellow creators...
HOW DO YOU MAKE SCENARIOS A LITTLE LESS COINCIDENTAL?
I'm trying to write a problem for my character to kick start his adventure, but whatever I come up with seems cliche or just too coincidental...
For example:
Protag is a normal child with beautiful eyes, but he has to lose them somehow (trying to make him blind). One day his parents sold him to an orphanage and he lost his sight...
I don't know, that just seems a bit unnatural and there's no reason for it?
I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right, but how do you make things flow a bit better? Sorry, I'm on like...4hrs of sleep so it's a bit hard to stay coherent. But yeah...how do you make the story flow a bit more natural...and seems like it was destined for the protag to lose his sight? Should I drag out the time he had his sight a bit longer? I'm not sure, I want it to be shocking when he loses his sight..you know?
