How would you describe this art style...?

Just conducting a little experiment:

God, all the memories are flooding back already...this was so much harder to do than it looks. >_< Mostly because this is a bit different from how I usually draw and color. It felt like I was working 'art muscles' I hadn't used in years...

I don't have a big art style vocabulary, but if I was telling a friend about it I'd say it was like "cute retro anime" maybe. I like it!

Early 2000s anime? Like the kind you'd watch as a kid. I don't know why it reminds me of Bakugan and... Blazing teens, not the live action version.

Just looking at them reminds me of the first Digimon series thanks to the shape of their head and size.

Eyes look similar to the old series Pokemon characters.

And finally, their hairstyles remind me of Yu-gi-oh (the first series will always be my favorite).

Good old times, now I'm feeling very old.

Also did anyone watch season 0 of yu-gi-oh? It's much darker than 1st official season (Duel monsters)
