Most of my poems (that will post as well) I think are "childish" and horribly written as well, but I love them non-the-less, if not more!
I at a time thought everything needed to rhyme as well as that was what was being thought in the language classes (Afrikaans and English) "Rhyme" but after when I saw this one movie... Forester "or something" ; "or something" Forester (can't remember precisely now) and then finding a book that my dad has (book no 10 of an encyclopaedia collection) this book had so many folk lores, stories and poems in it I realised that I didn't need "rhyme" but still I didn't like "language" classes much and thus though "reading" & "writing" was a waste of effort.
If not for my mom saving me from finishing (getting to the "good parts") of a super romance book and getting my own book(s) to read, I wouldn't have learned to love reading and not for my Afrikaans teacher getting me involved in poetry the way she did I would not have started writing and so I find it interesting how people can help form your personality, your love for certain "things" or help you develop your own "talents".
Thinking about it, singing is thanks to my dad who loves music, and my family who always sings hymns.
My love for Photography is form my mom who was and still is the one behind the camera cause she doesn't like her picture taken and who takes pictures of us at the worst times (Always when we about to eat or drink
)
Painting thanks to mom who took me to buy stuff when was bored in a hotel room (same as with the romance book... was bored and nothing to do...
Every little thing starts somewhere and looking on it all you can write poems filling enough pages to take you to the sun and back with all these little emotions and memories you experienced in your life thanks to the people in your life or absent from it!
And then the very poem you write can connect with others in a completely different way than intended when you wrote it! So that's why poetry remains my favourite pastime writing relieve to today!
