Hyper-realistic art/comic

Hi everybody!
Do any of you have or had tried drawing realistically? Is it okay for me to see them? I want to try draw realistically but I don't know where to start or begin. The only other comic I know that has realistic art is Ghostblade. Idk, you guys wanna share some art with the rest of us here and share some tips? :3

Mine is rather realistic, but mind you, I've been drawing seriously only for less than a year. I would suggest taking a course in figure drawing with real live models, it's incredibly helpful

Here's my comic, if you wish to have a look, it's called The Green-Eyed Sniper. You can see the difference between the first three pages and the rest, as I worked harder and harder and got more confident. I'm actually going to redo those first three pages, because I think they're hurting my chances at getting more readers, especailly on Tapastic, where people seem to focus more on art and less on story

While it's miles away from hyper-realism, my comic, Arc29, is a realistically drawn sci-fi story. Or, at least, I'm aiming for something like that! It's b+w with very little rendering done, so it limits just how realistic it can be.

I aim for a certain element of realism in the art for Heroes for Ghosts, though there are certainly elements of stylization. I don't know if it's "hyper-realistic", but it's not cartoony. I think a good place to start drawing more realistically is to use a lot of references from real life.

I think art can go to too realistic in a comic. Especially when the poses and panels look like still photos. For example I found reading Iron man extremis was very jarring experience. But it certainly has it's audience. I got a bit cartoony but still more realistic style in my comic Numb, keeping the proportions realistic but otherwise loosing up a bit.

I've always been interested in hyper-realistic art, sadly I don't have any online at the moment but I can recommend some stuff that might be at least interesting...
Try looking up "The Realism Challenge" on amazon or something, they guy who wrote it did stuff like this

I prefer 75% realistic. It still has a cartoon like feel, without being overly cartoon.

Begin with lifedrawing! Try to find a class near you - they're VERY useful! If you can't find a lifedrawing class, start using photos for reference - or draw stuff around you. Draw stuff you find on your desk, or stuff that's right outside your window. In the case of learning how to draw realistically, copying is totally a legitimate way to learn. In lieu of lifedrawing, photos are your very best friend.

After that, it's practise, practise, practise! It may very well take years, but they're going to be fun and interesting years.
