So, for context, I started writing this thing during I think my senior year of high school, ten years ago. I've been picking at it ever since, sometimes putting it down for years at a time to focus on other projects. I started posting it to Tapas in like 2018 in hopes that it would motivate me to finally finish it, and it was working for awhile, but then I hit another block writing the last handful of chapters and just...stopped for another two years

BUT I don't know what made me do it, but I finally sat down and finished the stupid thing. It's DONE. The last three chapters are uploaded and scheduled to come out over the next week and a half.

Granted, somewhere in the writing process I decided there would be two more books in the series, so I still have to write those, and I'm planning to take this first one through a few rounds of edits so I can justify a self-pub e-book release, at least. But hey, for once in my life I get to say I finished SOMETHING and I am proud of that.

Anyway, I'm feeling celebratory, so feel free to share something you've accomplished lately that you're proud of, be it comic/novel related or not! Let's all be proud of each other

Of course, if your accomplishment IS comic/novel related, drop your links! Mine's here, if anyone's interested:

And so you should be! Finishing your first book is always a great feeling!

I dunno, I can’t really think of any big accomplishments, but I am happy to share my story!

That is so exciting! Congratulations. My accomplishments aren't like yours, but I'm proud of the fact I've actually when able to finish a few stories in my series. I'm also really happy with part 4 and want to share it with others.

Congrats! That's so exciting since you've been working on it for so long. I reached my mini goal of 175 subs so I'm aiming for the next, which is 200. Overall accomplishments, I'm proud of myself for posting it in the first place  Every milestone I got after, getting a feature on the front page, and making it this far is more than I anticipated in a two and half month's time. Right now I want 500 likes and I'm 6 away :cry_swag:

That's amazing! I understand the joy you must feel after working for so long.

I'm personally really happy I've reached 170 subs. I hope to reach 250 by the end of this year! :heartbeat:

It's a great feeling when you complete the writing of your first novel! Congrats!

I guess my accomplishments recently are reaching some subscriber goals for my 3 novels. Growth has been slow this past month though. :sweat_02:

Genre: Drama, Mystery, Psychological Thriller
Unravel the secrets and mysteries hidden in a small town through the eyes of a singer, a policeman, and a school counselor. Clues to the subsequent murders are hidden in human relationships of the past and the dark abyss of the Internet!

Genre: Historical Romance, Fantasy
Follow Empress Wu Zetian's treacherous journey from the hands of enemy Tufan soldiers back to the Forbidden City where she battles foes from within her own kingdom.

Genre: Scifi, Action, Thriller
A short story collection that involves science fiction, fast-paced action scenes, and dystopic universes.

well, I think I'm on the same page as you. Just two more parts left and my novel is complete. Tuesday everything is online. 110k words And I can't believe I hit that wc number.

Congratulations! That's a huge accomplishment and I'm glad you kept going, even if it meant taking breaks that lasted for several years. I'm seriously impressed - that's what I call determination.

As for me, I'm proudest of the fact that I also FINALLY finished a whole novel this year which is being uploaded as of now on Tapas. I am currently writing the second book of that series that I've planned on finishing by the beginning of November. Another accomplishment I'm incredibly proud of is the fact that my novel is featured in this week's Community Picks and I'm only one subscriber away from the amazing 250 subs :sunny: (Still can't wrap my head around that.)

Once again, congrats on finishing your first novel

welldone!! ahh that must feel great dude ^^

i'm working on my own comic rn, and i'm so happy cause i reached 50 subs ;u;! <3 i wish you luck in the future with more stuff btw!! <33

Uuh, I get that though. The finished version of my novel surprised me with the wc too - I didn't even realize I wrote more than I had planned O.o

Congratulations! Ten years, that's long. Just when I thought mine was long in 6 years...Ten years seems to be the norm O.O
Glad for the achievement, it is relieving to finally finish something

I'm in the same boat in getting in this site in the hopes that at least the short updates would help me to finally get down to finish mine.

But, I get distracted, and school too. But anyway, I began revising mine because I'm in a different headspace than when I first started. Finished this cover, because I usually procrastinate by doing art. Will go back to revision work.

My accomplishment is actually making a buffer for Bounty Turn. (The comic I'm currently writing scripts for)

Ah congrats on your novel as well! I know the feeling, I set out to write like a 50-60k word one-off book and landed at 90k with plans for two more  It's crazy how these things tend to grow as you're working on them.

The funny part is that if I had worked on it straight through instead of continually putting it down, it would have taken like 1-2 years probably :joy: But honestly I'm a lot more confident in my writing now than I was when I started it anyway so it's probably for the best.

That's a really nice cover! Definitely attention-grabbing!

Ahh thanks, congrats on finishing yours as well and good luck with the second one! I don't know if I'm excited or worried about writing the second one in my series because all I have for it right now is a loose outline of plot points and character arcs ahaha; hopefully I don't take a decade to pull it all into a book this time.

But honestly I'm a lot more confident in my writing now than I was when I started it anyway so it's probably for the best.

Maybe what is needed is that dash of confidence to finish one.

Thank you
