I'm really happy for you finally finding your passion!
I remember hearing a story about an 80 year old woman going out and becoming a professional sculptor for high class museums and there's plenty of other artist and actors starting late. So it's never to late to became an artist c:

I started studying art and anatomy in high school at about Junior year. Only recently, three years out of high school, have I gotten better at art. So from age 16 until 20... turning 21 soon. I feel old.

Ha! I think i might have thought that too in your age - i'm 31 now and regret that i made a lot of drawing pauses(always some years inbetween). I studied graphic design and at that time people always told you that illustration's not good for anything.
Important is only that you don't give it up completely and keep going.

I started serious work for my current comic when I was 22, and it was the right time for me. I didn't even really start to improve until then--after art classes in high school and four years of course study for a college degree in Studio Art. The important thing is that you start and keep going. We all think "if only I had started so much sooner, I'db e so much farther" but in a few years, it won't even matter,

I've been drawing since I was like 4. I put the time in, read tons of books, went to school for it, and I still am mediocre at best. When I see older or younger people that just started art that looks more technical than mine it used to frustrate me. Then one day I just accepted this is the way I draw and my potential is limited at best and that's ok. It's made art a lot more enjoyable for me.

And besides if you're worried about art not looking good enough, just remember that there are stick figure comics on the internet that make insane amounts of money for some reason. I would not be too worried about aesthetics in this contemporary/postmodern/whatever they call it era. People are way more into concept than aesthetics than ever before (this is based on my own personal fine arts background).

Jamie McKelvie started drawing when he was 21, now he works for marvel. It all depends on your dedication. Of course it can be easier if you've gotten used to holding a pen from very small age, but the thing that really matters is practice. Don't get depressed about that and continue drawing.

I'm 19. Started drawing when I was younger. I regret not registering for art classes for every year in high school. I have a valid reason as to why i stopped registering in 9th grade (the teacher was annoying and didn't really 'teach' and gave me bad grades- I mean a B in the class isn't bad, but I wanted an A because I wanted straight a's) I still have time though and am planning on checking out college classes.

I've heard pros say the best time to start making comics is 10 years ago. The second best time is right now. It takes about 10 years of practice to get really good at any skill (comics, skateboarding, juggling, whatever).

Rather than focusing on the past, consider how many different careers you can have if you master a new skill every 10 years! I started making comics at 40.
