If someone made a manga about your life's story?

If someone made a manga about your life's story, first of all would you want to see it and how well do you think others would receive it?

For me personally, I would love to see a manga about the earlier part of my life, like when I was 6 yrs old to 12 yrs old.

Yeah but I definitely wouldn't want to see a manga about my life in my twenties, that's like a trainwreck. LoL 🤣

I feel like my life is a bit too mundane.

I think the time I work doing video archiving would be interesting but the story won't be about me, it would be about the different videos and photos I encountered. I guess it would be similar to Kingyo Used Books. But maybe have a fictional character replace me.

The manga would be about my Kid version, played by John Wick (grown Men), he gets into trouble as he's uncovering the truths of the world. And by truths I mean, exploring places I wasn't supposed to ^^

I feel like I haven't done anything significant enough to really merit a biography, because there's no obvious place for a climax where the protagonist does the thing they ended up famous for or "becomes" the famous version of themselves that everyone knows.

I've actually always felt I'm more likely to some day be twisted into a villain or antagonist in a biography of some other comic creator or something. You know how in dramatic biographies, to make it function more like a story or narrative, they tend to use somebody who was in that person's life as an antagonist, so a person who criticised them, or who was working on the same thing but didn't become as famous, is changed into this jealous or obstinate character who talks down to them and is always blocking their path and must be overcome and taught a lesson? I feel like that's the character somebody would use me for in somebody else's biography rather than writing one about me.

(Honest opinion, the idea of being significant enough to be written about inflates my ego. But realistically, I think want to be the one telling my story. Even if it’s ultimately not completely my decision to make. No use worrying about it.)

First I have to say that my life was super exciting! With a lot of of ups and downs.

There is a comic book called smalltown boy and it could be about my life until I was 18.
The main character also looks a lot like me around that age, even the clothes, he grows
up in small german town like me, and listens to subcultural rock´n´roll music like me.
Something that a lot of people my age in Germany have in common but it´s still funny.

My later life would be the 18+ version with a lot of parts I´d rather keep for myself for multiple
reasons. I thought about writing a book about things that I experienced as a touring musician
but then came to the conclusion that the interesting 25% of it can´t be told because my family would
read it, or the authorities would read it and I would get into trouble and not be allowed to travel
to some countries again.

I think a couple of years of my life could make a pretty popular romance comic with quite a few tropes that can hook readers Other than that it probably won't be anything too interesting (at least so far)

Even if I had an interesting enough life, I would prefer a film, not a manga. Beatrix Potter got a biopic, after all.

I think the 2-3 years of my life when I was at my 2nd job would make quite a nice cozy slice of life series Maybe not the most interesting, but I know for some people it's their favourite genre haha cx it'd cover moving out to another city where I didn't know anyone, first steps living alone (with renting a room and trying to communicate with people from other rooms), first steps in a new job, finding new friends, and so on. Mostly focusing on friendships and maybe highlighting comedy aspects, but with a bit of romance and drama sprinkled here and there. And the last episode would be me moving back to my hometown to be with my long-distance boyfriend, crying in a car because I already miss my friends but also hopeful of what future may bring.
And the 2nd season would start with a 3-years timejump, fast forward to me breaking of engagement

Maybe also my highschool years would make a decent slice of life series? again, nothing too exciting, just navigating friendships and having to think about the future.

Hm, the most story-worthy part of my life so far is probably the 'deciding to be homeless-by-choice' arc Here's the sequence of events in my life that would consist this arc, probably:

• child me talking about my dream job; I want to get a mundane, low-demand job so I wouldn't have to worry about keeping up or disappointing anyone
• in 10th grade, I heavily implied to the school counselor that I'd rather be homeless than finish school, and asked for their help communicating as such to my parents. However they didn't really get what I was talking about, and I ultimately couldn't spit it out, and stayed in school
• university; I've developed a taste in abstraction and was studying math. I was starting to consider maybe I could actually enjoy my job and not just get by. But I couldn't stand living at home, and was experimenting with ways to stay out while lying to my parents that I was crashing at my friends'
• summer school in another state; emboldened by my experiments, I gave in to my hatred of paperwork and didn't apply for accommodation. But the university hosting this summer school had more stringent night patrols so I got caught, and ended up in grippy sock jail because I was too scared to speak
• after extensive worrying, I was finally persuaded to let the grippy sock jail to contact my parents to pick me up. They were surprisingly chill/understanding, which was a relief as I was bracing for a disaster. In a normal story this is probably the climax/turning point where I learn a lesson about not running away from my problems or smth, but that's not what happened IRL lol
• so I passed undergrad and learnt during honours/masters that I probably wouldn't enjoy doing this as a job after all. Also still can't stand living at home because the chillness/understandingness doesn't last, so I moved out properly and realized rent is expensive
• so after finishing masters, I moved (back) out of the state and gave this homelessness thing another shot, having learnt from my previous experiences to have proper equipment so I can avoid squatting in buildings. The End

How do I think it'll be received? I mean, I'm exploring many of the same themes in my current webcomic, which I wouldn't have chosen to do that if I didn't think people would get some sort of kick out of it

I dont think I've ever seen a manga biography before and I doubt that if one existed it would be a very long story due to how long it takes to make a comic period.

I'm still relatively young (at least as far as my peers are conserned) so I don't have much I'd be able to write about and honestly my friends have better horror child hood stories that would make a way more interesting adaptation into a comic.

Like any story can become a biography but to turn it into a COMIC it feels like their has to be a point to go into the visual story telling. Only part I can think of in my life is maybe the early years of dating before I decided I was ace and trying to date people.

Tho the problem with this is that it would prob end up being a very anti-romance comedy which I'd be worried might end up feeling mean spirited about teens dating.

I mean, if people really wanted it then sure. But, it's pretty depressing. :')
