Hey Guys

A friend of mine recently rented a cinema to watch a film as he misses the experience but is still wary of going to crowded places. Apparently quite a lot of places are doing deals right now. Soooooo...

If you could choose ANY movie which you could watch in the cinema on your own, what would it be and why?

I would be tempted in terms of something recent to opt for A Quiet Place, if there was a great sound system...

Alternatively I would love to watch something really epic that you don't often get to see in the cinema like The Man Who Would be King.

Which film would you choose and why?

And what would you have to eat and drink? For me it's a no brainer! Large hot-dog and Slushie!!

Cheers

Danny

Alien, followed by Aliens (Director's cut). No alienÂł or Resurrection. That, or a Doctor Who/Good Omens marathon.
Cherryade, bag of chocolate m and ms, hotdog with ketchup, caramel popcorn
Get all my friends there to share the experience
Yum

Just me? That means no husband, so let's pick something he doesn't want to watch. And it's a whole theater so I can yell at the characters? Maybe something silly that I barely remember like Bridget Jones' Diary then.

Popcorn drowning in fake butter and a dark n stormy, please!

I'll just cheat and say The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Extended Cut. That's one movie right? :stuck_out_tongue:

Also I'm inviting all my nerdy friends over so we can sit and throw LOTR Trivia at each other without being shushed ^^

Haha that's epic I recall one cinema did a Pyjama Party where everyone stayed overnight and watched all of the films!!

Reefer Madness the Musical. All the atmosphere of the theater but nobody to be bothered when I sing along to the songs and get really into the dance numbers. Plus getting chills from the lecturer on the big screen.

Arrival!

I never saw it in theaters but I was blown away by it when I saw the movie. Every shot is a cinematic experience. It's one of the few movies I've seen that can also be seen as classic art in many ways. It's a gorgeous movie, with a great twist on aliens, and a beautiful message about communication. It's relaxing to watch and I never get tired of it.

the Sonic movie that just came put a while ago! with any luck i may be able to see the sequel whenever thats released but i would love to see big blue on the big screen

A good cinematic movie i can watch in theater?

I like watching theater movies being very cinematic, slow burn, and don't have much dialogues, and sometimes relaxing. :kissing_smiling_eyes::tropical_drink:

If it's IMAX cinema, i pick Bladerunner 2049. So gorgeous to look at.

If it's a normal typical cinema, i'll pick the classics. Hmm, Hitchcock's Vertigo (remastered) Great psychological thriller with great music and great visual.

I am with @yondoloki on the extended cut of LOTR :hohoho:
Only ever seen Two Towers in cinema, sitting in the front row and there were like 4 more people in the hall (it was Saturday morning and I skipped school for this), daaaaaaaamn the first scene will be forever imprinted on my retina.

Easily Possession (1981). Its a movie that really relaxes me and I’d kill to see it on the big screen.

Its actually getting a small theatrical release this year and I may or may not drive several hours to go watch it :sob:

They use to do this offers here, not sure if they still running this promotions. You could even play videogames (as long as you brought the system with you).

As for movies, I would go with Dunkirk. Reason is that movie audio is tailor made for cinema experience. I have it and tried it on my 5.1 surround and it just feels so empty compare to when I saw it on theater. Only movie that has made me feel that way in regards to the audio.

The Lighthouse.

I'm dying to watch that in a proper theater again :hohoho:

Will save the food for after the movie to not distract myself, but lobsters would be nice, ehehe.

Grown Ups

easily a good movie, very funny. And I swear they are all the men I wanna be when I grow up

Inception bc the first time I saw it was on my phone like a year ago or something lmao that theater experience must have been rad as hell..

To eat and drink though? Gotta go classic buttered popcorn and a soda. Cherry Coke, if ya wanna know that badly :sunglasses:

I actually work at a theater right now :eyes:
But anyways, um I'd probably want to see a classic Kaiju movie. Either Godzilla vs Gigan or Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla.

Terminator 2 and aliens.

Edit: actually add T1 to mix as well. Kyle Reese is so hot I wanna see his sweaty body on the big screen :ok_hand:

Either something super sappy - because no one can see me bawl my eyes out, if I'm alone - or movies I could watch over and over again, like (already mentioned) LOTR or the Raimi-Spider Man movies, because why not xD
