Mine would definitely be a cute comedy! Would Slice of Life be included in comedy? Sometimes genres are hard to define...
Anyways, what about you guys?
More specific to manga, but shounens kinda have a bit of everything, so yeah~
My immediate response was Fantasy, but on second thought I'd pick Comedy.
Some Slice-of-Life is pretty much comedy but then some of it is drama and comedy and then I guess some is mostly drama so I dunno.
man, thats such a tough choice...
maybe drama?? bc thats a fairly broad category, and contains a lot of really interesting stories
I would definitely pick Fantasy or SciFi!
Variety is the spice of life; I wouldnt be able to read "just one genre" like I'm not able to watch just one type of movie or TV show.
[Robotic voice]: Four new categories have just been created.

Slice of life for me lol. I like stories that are as realistic as possible
Vampire fiction! most suck i know, but even when it's bad it's a guilty pleasure
Horror. Cuz it can be combine with any other genre and still be horror, hehehehe~
So I can still have my romance and still have horror
Since BL is considered it's own genre, well, I'll choose it.
fantasy, since it's a broad genre
fantasy. all sorts of possibilities.
I'm with ar-ninetysix, shounen alllllll da way!
Surreal if that's a genre. Even when its terrible its still interesting visually.
ditto. Fantasy for the broad genre, but if I had to narrow down, action fantasy/battle shonen would be my selection xD
I'm on the fantasy band wagon, on the assumption that cross genre is allowed (ie fantasy can include romance, drama, comedy, etc)
Can I count arthouse/indie as a genre? Pls
AUGHHH this is such a hard question. I would probably say horror? but maybe, actually, non fiction? because i actually draw a lot of inspiration for work from real life events, love stories, history, science. So maybe that would be my safest bet.
have you ever read anything in the "Bizarro Fiction" genre? I just started reading it and i'm OBSESSED. it's surrealism to the max
