If you could recommend 3 films for my grandparents in isolation

Hey Guys

Hope that you are all well and safe.

So, the above question. If you could recommend three films, just anything that you were really impressed by / made an impact on you and you'd love to pass on that recommendation to others. What would they be and why? Ideally they will be available on DVD from Amazon in the UK as I would like to buy and send to them. They are not great with technology and I am going to be sending them movies every couple of weeks as they love films. They love all different genres, and aren't afraid of horror or sci fi (although not too intense albeit my gran appears to be somewhat of a gorehound, it's my grandad who doesn't like anything too full-on!).

Any suggestions would be really gratefully received as I would love to curate / add some fun to their lives.

Hard to make a really good recommendation with such a broad selection, but to make isolation a little better, maybe Paddington 1 and 2? They don't shake up anything or stay in your mind forever, but it's a good series to go "yeah, there's good in the world, the house is cozy, I could go for some hot chocolate and chill for the rest of the day".

If they like old movies. they are all comedies and dramas as that's more the stuff I tend to watch.

Oh I definitely recommend American Psycho. It’s not too gory and it’s really more of a thriller/dark comedy than a horror movie. It’s a classic so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve already seen it! And two other good go-to films:

• Children of Men (Can get very intense)
• And 2001: Space Odyssey (heard was pretty good. And it’s another classic!)

Studio Ghibli films are very laid-back, and I've always liked them. The first two are light-hearted action movies.
