I'm Cal, pushing 30. No student loans on my side as I barely have a high school education. I am currently working semi-full time (6-7 hour days) as a freelance digital marketer / community manager. This started 4 months ago, before that I worked in a recruitment agency for 10 years, starting from data entry and ending at operations management before I decided to give that up and move to the coast to take care of my aging parents. I had hoped that this change would give more time to pursue my creative goals, but somehow working 2 less hours a day plus not commuting for an hour have given me less time to work on personal projects? I don't quite know how this is possible. I guess part of it has to do with the fact that we bought a pretty run down but huge house and I have been stuck in renovation hell for the last month and a half. I swear, dust lies 2 mm thick on everything, despite us cleaning every day.
I have been writing since my preteen years, though no pub credits to my name. Art wise I was told in primary school I have no talent, so it never occurred to me to pursue it as something professional. Despite that I do paint (acrylics) and waste time with various other crafty thing. I only started doing digital art and exploring comic creation this year, after I got inspired by all the great comics on here. And of course I am comicing straight up fluff.
