I'm not a huge fan of the looong scroll pages either, but I looked at some others and thought that's how it was supposed to be done :0 but now I see people can do it any way they want, so I will start putting less pages together at once.

By the way, I tried to make a "thank you" image like you suggested, but I don't know how to get the image into the post itself... copy and pasting didn't work.. (sorry I'm dumb) ..if possible can you tell me how to do it? Thank you!

Hey, welcome to Tapas! I subscribed to your comic. Good action, good proportions, good pacing... you're off to a great start!
I think you can create a new post on someone's wall (click the text box at the top) and then attach an image.. but I don't think you can use the tapas app for this, just the full site. I could be wrong, though; I'm not tech savvy myself.

Hi Buritsu, welcome to Tapas! I checked out your comic, I like it so far.

Feedback-wise, the linework looks nice and clean, and the proportions of the characters all look good. The small details that add texture to backgrounds and clothing and such really make a difference.

I think the main thing that would potentially make the art 'better' would be to add shading, like with screen tones or whatever works. That would help the art to look less flat and would be a powerful tool to improve not only the sense of realism, but the contrast and the ability to lead the viewer's eye across the page to the places you want. For example, in a panel with a crowd of people, it would be possible to manipulate the lighting such that one person in particular stands out easily.

Story-wise, it looks like it's off to a good start. The beginning is already interesting and has the reader starting to ask questions about the world and the characters' situation.

Hi there~ I'm Sera. And yes this is just the place to introduce yourself and your comic ^^ I find your story interesting so I've subbed~

You've only got three uploads so far and seem to have only started two days ago, so as long as you continue and remain consistent, you'll gain readership. It will take a while but all you have to do is tell your story the best you can~^^

I took a look and enjoyed it Here's my feedback:

• Your linework is really neat and clean <3 Details look lovely and you have the hang of proportions. I can only see you getting better from here!

• I would suggest putting Hideo's thoughts into square bubbles or even actual thought bubbles so they're separated from the background. Just to make things clearer to read. This is more a personal preference for me but I tend to put a white 'stroke' around all my text just in case it overlaps any art (the bubbles I use are on a screen layer and gray so they're see-through)

• I enjoy how there's a turn at the end of each of the episodes where things don't quite go the way I expect and it makes me curious. (This is a really good thing because stories thrive on things not going quite the way the protagonist or reader expects ) I'm interested in seeing where the story goes so I hope you keep up the suspense and have me continue to wonder 'what happens next?'

• The colors you have for the banner and title page are really brilliant. I know it takes like double the time and work, but even just flat colors for the pages will make things pop and differentiate characters. I did a doubletake with Kumiko and Hideo's mom cause they have really similar hairstyles hahah ^^ Not sure if that was purposeful or not.

• A majority of dialogue is nice and it definitely helps guide the story, but sometimes it's a bit much when it looks like a whole paragraph?

  • This might be a personal thing but I like taking advantage of the vertical format to make panels cinematic, and that means it shouldn't take too long to read a dialogue bubble, even if it's giving us a bunch of information.

  • In general, the more concise you can be and the more dramatically you can tell the story (that is through character action/expressions more than words), the better. Just reading your dialogue aloud will help you find where it can sound more like a person speaking.

  • Or at least for any dialogue that takes more than three lines, try breaking it up into smaller bubbles to lead the eye around the screen. The great thing about a scrolling mobile format is you can take all the space you need.

Your comic looks good so far! I just subscribed. You have very clean artwork and it's easy to follow what's happening. I like how you make word bubbles too. The sizing and shape of them is nice.

Only suggestion I have is what someone else said... it might be worth adding a comic tone or two. You don't have to go overboard, just one is fine. Or just add more shading. While the pages look great, they also look a bit unfinished because it lacks tones/shading.

I also recommend using a comic dialogue font. Check out Blambot which offers tons of free fonts. http://www.blambot.com/fonts_dialogue.shtml Digital Strip, Letteromatic, Mighty Zeo are all good fonts. My personal favorite is Wild Words, but it isn't free (it's not on Blambot. It was made by someone else).

You're right, some grey shading or colour would improve it, I know that the pure black and pure white combo does look a bit flat. The reason I used this minimalistic style is because of time restraints ^_^; and I thought I'd rather keep it simple in exchange for being able to draw pages faster... but I also agree that so many comics here are fully coloured and shaded so it sets a very high standard! I will look into it though. Thanks for your suggestion!

Thanks for your advice! You're right... the pages could use comic tones... I just use flat back and white because it's going to be a long story and I wanted to make it simpler so that I could get new pages done faster... but since two people have brought it up, I might do some trials of shading some pages ^_^

Hmmm I will look into some more fonts, but also for a weird reason I don't think comic/manga fonts really suit my story and I have this compulsion to use a more literary font like serif... but if I get more opinions that I should change it, I probably will. Thank you!

Yes, I am the same way! I always hand draw the bubbles. Hand drawn bubbles and SFX always look better.
