I'm on 5 different webcomic sites (Including Tapas) here are my thoughts

Webtoons changed over time. To be popular now you just need good art even if your story is bad.

Many creator webtoons are full of plot holes but they get a contract since they were popular as a canvas. They don't do very well compared to professional webtoons from korean webcomics.

If you are on tapas I do recommend using a vertical scroll version if you want a shout out by tapas. Tapas got pretty picky on what they give more attention to.

I've been hesitant about checking GlobalComix 'cause when I briefly looked at it I got the impression it was for, like, very professional comics with the main intention to be sold (and being sold usually requires an interest beforehand). But from your review it sounds more like the platforms I'm already posting on, so hey, perhaps I should eventually add one more!

I suck at self-marketing, so posting my story in as many places as I can so far seems the only strategy I can pull... ^^" (Not fishing for pity or whatever, just know what my weakness is. Tragically it seems to be an almost fatal one in the webcomic world - but I'll keep moving > )

While I've been assured up above that it's still an open field, it does give the impression that direct market also-rans are seeing it as a replacement for Comixology.

I mean, cool. Comixology was good stuff in its prime. It should be replaced.

But even if Top Cow isn't Marvel they can still out-compete someone pounding out a weekly title all by their lonesome. If it does prove profitable enough for them you can be guaranteed that the businesses will push everyone out.

In The long run I think GC will attract mainstream comic readers. Which admittedly is good for me because, before I put my comics online I audience tested them with various people. I found that same audience liked my own comics so admittedly it is in my best interest to see the site succeed, that and The Duck so I confess to having a bit of bias in that regard xD. In the short run i've been able to update pretty much everyday because I had a stockpile of chapters before I went to Globalcomix.

There is the very real issue that due to the fact the site doesn't have an update timer, the big publishers on the site could abuse the recent update section and stay there indefinitely . If a single person like me could get their foot in the door by blasting updates imagine if DC or Marvel decide to put up every issue of Spider-man and Batman they could update every minute for years. That being said I don't think an update timer would be enough to stop something like Green Lantern hogging the front page given how many different versions there are of it.
