i just spent the last two hours cataloging the entries for the July Writers Camp onto a spreadsheet just to get a visual idea of how many stories were able to reach the 10 episode prerequisite, and HOTDIGGITYDARN! y'all, in total there were 119 entries, and out of those? only twenty six -- TWENTY SIX -- of those failed to reach the ten episodes mark.
Literally 79% of entries were able to succeed and I'm just so proud of everyone. Regardless of who wins, I just think its incredible Tapas has been able to attract such determined writers and while I don't know how this turn-out compares to the last camp, I hope that everyone who participated in the camp finds it within themselves to continue their stories because I've been told to expect some will just sort of stop,,,, that's so sad!
I really don't envy the task ahead of the Tapas Staff in deciding who gets to win, but I admire them for this opportunity they've given us and respect that they're so inclusive of different kinds of storytelling beyond comic-making. No matter how it turns out tho, GUYS WE DID IT!
