I can't believe it. I really can't.

Joanne is and will always be a dear friend to me. For nearly ten years we existed together, starting out, finding our place, celebrating each other. We responded in kind every time, no matter what. I can't believe she's gone. Such a wise and thoughtful presence. So measured, so insightful. She was here for the everyone. Joanne was a legend in this place. And I've never met someone more dedicated to their craft. She was without a doubt the most authentic and unafraid artist I've ever met. Joanne, you are inspirational. My heart hurts for her family. For her wonderful husband. For her home that is now incomplete.

I mourn for the stories she never got to write, and the characters and worlds that she took with her.

Joanne, I'm so sorry I never told you plainly how much you meant to me. I will never forget you.
