I have done bonus stories, Q&A's, and sneek peeks into new novels

I'd love to do sneek peeks into new novels except, it's going to spoil what will happen in my current ones since technically, it's a continuation with different settings. So I have to avoid that

Can you expand more on bonus stories, please? Like... is it side/extra stories or just something like mass release?

The way I've done bonus stories in the past is paused the story and then uploaded the bonus story in 2-3 episode batches, depending on how long it it is.

Usually, I'll do a request or something that someone has commented on like "How did these two characters meet?" or something like that.

There is the option of also making a separate section for the bonus stories, if you didn't want the bonus story to interfere with flow of the ongoing story

I don't have a lot of readers but I feel like making a goal of 1k ink and letting my readers pick out a scenario/prompt for me to write for my main novel as the reward? They aren't the most vocal of readers though so I'm not too sure myself.
I'm also thinking of the reward being a release of a chapter that is canon, but only exists on dA right now. So I could post it on Tapas for the readers. Or make the bonus chapter for one of the side characters... I just have so many options that I'm not too certain. It wouldn't be anything big or long though.
That's why I haven't sent in a request to have ink unlocked - my fans might be too small..?

I don't have a lot of readers either, but I thought I might as well try. There's still a month left until Inksgiving, so maybe we'll have built up our readerships a little by then!

Has anyone tried posting "Deleted scenes" from their works? If so, did people like them?

I ask because I have a scene I wrote that I liked, but it really killed the flow of the story so I took it out...

I would consider adding a deleted scene to some titles but not others. It might fit into Alien Fiction which is sort of a variety show of book, but I wouldn't insert it into one of my more organized books.

Erik Larsen did something sneaky along these lines. While he was creating his Savage Dragon comic for Image, he printed a one shot story which showcased his original artwork and story he made of the same character back when he was in highschool. This was a previously unpublished story. It ended with Savage Dragon defeating a supervillain, resucing his girlfriend, and kissing her. The next month in an issue of his regular title, the same villain appeared. As one read through the issue, it became clear that Erik was recycling his old story, scene for scene, page for page. The difference was new artwork. Then on the very last page, he flipped expectations. Savage Dragon defeated the villain, he rescued his girlfriend, and then she dumps him.

I am also new to the platform and I would really like to know how "Inksgiving" works. Should I submit a bonus content somewhere or..?

Use ink all around under the event, and tell a little about you, and hopefully, the one you have ink, come to check you out.
That is the way it works to see something new and be ready to check others when there ink you.

Ohhh I like these ideas! I think I shall do something like that. Just need to create tiers and then post for each goal met!

I think I'll do flashback episodes for my characters, artwork of my characters doing AU (or genderflipped XD), as well as AU episodes (change the setting), and perhaps a Q/A. Just need to look at some formats for inspiration.

I just get an idea. There is a lot of speak of an extra episode or something like that.

I will make a special Christmas worldbuilding event, where I will give all that ink I will be giving back from Tapas from this Inkgiving back to creators.
That will mean for every day in December I will release some word of the worldbuild of the Catmen world. And every day an ink-competition and a big Christmas ink-competition.

But only if I get the ink goal of this inkgivings.

Sometimes I got commissions done from artist or I sent cute bookmarks to who contributed the most with a thank you letter

That is a lot of ways to be creative. But I don't need to say you shall be creative because all of the great people in this Tapas are creative. But again all can have a creative-block.
Then I will say, try to see what other creative Tapasias has done by searching on the last inkgivings and then mixed to your own creative way.

Oooo... lots of good ideas in here since last I looked.

I'll have to think about reward tiers. I feel like novels don't get as much love as comics, in general. The fanbases seem smaller... So... Maybe the reward tiers should be lower number-wise?

Anyone have experience with this? I mean, I guess mostly it depends on readership, but... ballpark?
