I noticed the search engine's lack of functionality too! I put in the name of my series and it didn't show up anywhere! lol I wonder why that is... Maybe it only searches tags?

I'm currently at #323 in Novels / Free-to-read / Fantasy (give or take. I lost count a couple of times.) Case 2 starts tomorrow, Wed., Nov. 27! I find myself both depressed at the low ranking and happy that I found it at all. lol

I usually write in Scrivener and then paste it into Tapas, so I don't run into this problem. If you don't have something like Scrivener, you could use google docs or any other word processor to draft in, then move it over to Tapas when you're done. The only problem is if you use italics or bold b…

Thanks again for reaching out to me about this! I love the way it turned out, and it was fun seeing how someone else sees my characters. Hope you enjoy the rest of the story! :two_hearts:

Hi! I don't use discord, but I love your art style. If you still need a writer, I'd be happy to discuss ideas with you. I'll go ahead and message you here. Hope to hear from you soon! edit: joined discord as "sarujin" and sent you a friend request.

I think I agree with @rainbowolfe about the flow of transactions and with @michaelson about how there might be a language issue here... One issue seems to be how the Balance Details page should be read. I would propose that, despite the way it looks, it isn't set up like a spreadsheet with one tra…

Oh! I like your advent calendar idea! I wonder if I could come up with something similar...

Yay! I've been NaNo-ing since 2010. Started out old-school, but now I'm a NaNoRebel. This year I'm doing 2 novellas going for a total, combined word count of 50k. The first is a complete, bones up overhaul re-write of a novella I've been revising for 2 years. The second is a new idea in a genre …

Thanks for starting this topic! It's something I've been wondering about too. (Though it's going to be a long while before I have enough subs to pitch anything. lol)

I'm gonna go with star whale from Doctor Who [image] or maybe... a sea wolf [image]

How are people planning to announce their reward tiers? A special "episode" within the series? I was thinking of posting the info on my support page... ... ... What kind of stuff do people usually put on their support pages? Or, wait. That might not make sense because you wouldn't see it unless…

If you're still up for it, I always welcome constructive criticism. I call it an urban fantasy cozy mystery series. lol It's just getting started...

I started a thread on this topic...yesterday? There have been some cool ideas. It's over here: Inksgiving Novelists? I think it might still be possible to post novel pages with images, though I haven't done it myself yet. I found this thread on it: How to Put Pictures in Novel I don't do discor…

Oooo... lots of good ideas in here since last I looked. I'll have to think about reward tiers. I feel like novels don't get as much love as comics, in general. The fanbases seem smaller... So... Maybe the reward tiers should be lower number-wise? Anyone have experience with this? I mean, I gues…

Has anyone tried posting "Deleted scenes" from their works? If so, did people like them? I ask because I have a scene I wrote that I liked, but it really killed the flow of the story so I took it out...

I don't have a lot of readers either, but I thought I might as well try. There's still a month left until Inksgiving, so maybe we'll have built up our readerships a little by then!

This is my first Inksgiving as a creator on Tapas, and as a novelist I was wondering if any other novelists have plans for special Inksgiving things. I'm still not quite sure how it all works, and I can see how artists can push out a lot of cool extra content...but us novelists? So, if you have …

I actually think Sol and Luna are pretty good foils for each other. You just need to unpack what you've already got a little. If you keep the multiple personality thing, you have to figure out her trigger. Why does she flip from one personality to another? It's a coping mechanism, so what does th…

@Karumtoo-Rexo Yup. The kanji I use in my head for the names are as follows: Himura - 緋村 Igarashi Hayato - 五十嵐速人 Umino Jin - 海野仁 I don't use the kanji anywhere though, so there's no way for my readers to know. lol

My main characters all have at least some Japanese in their names. ^^ Japanese "r" sounds are slightly rolled like in some dialects of Spanish, so they sound soft like "l"s. Natalie Himura - NA-tuh-lee hee-MU-lah Hayato Igarashi - HAH-yah-tow ee-GAH-lah-shee Jin Umino - jeen OO-mee-noh Japanese …

My novella series just started, so there isn't much there yet, but it's supernatural in nature, and a beta reader told me that after she'd read my completed draft, she couldn't turn out the lights to go to sleep. lol To be honest, I didn't expect that reaction.

This is an interesting question... And I'm loving the discussion in this thread. My two cents... I think "experienced" in the sense it's being used here has a very specific meaning. It doesn't just mean that someone has written a lot. After all, writing a lot doesn't necessarily mean you're wri…

Mine is... probably long form? I think of it like a TV series made of novellas which would be the weekly episodes, strung together with a long, overarching plot that will play out over the whole series. A single novella is roughly 23-25k words. Breaking it into Tapas-sized chunks gives me 15-20 Ta…

This is my partial review of @BoredWeaver 's So, I read the intro, plus Talon and Lilyweaver's intros. First, I can tell that BoardWeaver really knows the characters in the story. Each one is clear and distinct. The one issue I had was that I'm not sure what species they are. lol The intro a…

Wow! Thanks for reading and thanks for such a thorough review. I'll try to keep to the same quality moving forward. Hopefully, it'll get even better!

I'm up for this. My series is still new, so episode 3 is just about to go live. (7am PST) Ep 4 will be up Friday, and ep 5 will be up next Wednesday. If people want to hold off reading it until there's more content up, I totally understand. My series is urban fantasy cozy mystery. I'm writing …

I've just started posting a novella that's the first in a series. I'm planning to put all the novellas in one title here and changing the "episode" thumbnails to reflect which novella it's from. I got this idea from comics I saw on Tapas that are separated into long arcs. The only one I can think …

It's a mix of things for me. Accountability is one. If I know there are people waiting for the next installment, I'm more likely to actually work on releasing it. Ease is another. Posting on a site like Tapas takes slightly less effort than putting together an ebook with an isbn and a cover, and…

Xanth! I haven't read Xanth in forever! Now I need to go dig around and see if I still have some Xanth novels lying around.

This might sound like a cop out answer, but I think secrets should be kept until the moment they have the most impact. So... That could mean do a reveal relatively quickly, or it could mean hold out until the very end. It depends on what the secret is and how it affects everything in the story. Pe…
