One dream gave me the idea of a new power for my protagonist.......not gonna say what because i avoid spoilers. All i can say is that the idea was.......fascinating

I've never had a dream about my comic's world or characters. Wish I would though.

I really liked the beginning of your novel, and your painting is beautiful! It looks so soft and lifelike (and scary lol). Subbed.

Aww! Thank you, I appreciate it! And well, my art style is a mix of semi realism and my own take at it, so I am very glad to hear it seems life like to you. :revolving_hearts: :cry_02: To the scary... I know, sometimes I just love to paint creepy stuff don't ask me why, I have no idea. (Blame my dreams for being weird or creepy lol)

I will check out your comic as well once I have time :revolving_hearts:

Sometimes I actually do get ideas from my dreams and implement them into my comics. A perfect example is the villain in episode 5 Willie (The Wall) Wilson was a character I saw fighting in action in one of my dreams. I thought he was an interesting enough character to put into Peacemaker Chronicles (2020) and useful power to establish stakes for a hero. But I'm not gonna spoil the details, because you can see him in action in episode 5!

I get most of my plot ideas from my dreams XD I have mainly lucid dreams, so I get to be in control and my dreams look more like movie plots than the usual weird random stuff...

My comic Ups and Downs is actually based on several dreams I've had:

The first one was a dream in which my oc Stefan was a superhero trying to keep his identity secret to his roommate Mikhail, by pretending he was just really into cosplay.

The second dream was about Mikhail being an Angel being invited to the Demons and Angels truce prom and flirting aggressively with any Demons there...

In the end, my comic is about Mikhail who is an Angel who has to hide his secret nature from his roommate Stefan, but he's pretty good at hiding the fact that he's an Angel because he's naturally terrible at being an Angel.

Here's the link!

I don't know if I've ever taken comic inspiration directly from dreams, but I do find that I consistently have my best writing ideas directly before or after falling asleep (the trick is to write them down immediately so you don't forget). So I definitely think there's something to the idea that sleeping and dreaming activates something new in our creative mind.

I did do this visual dream journal of some of my most vivid nightmares last year. I do want to eventually use some of the more horrifying imagery later in my comic.

I like that drawing; it's a really cool art style! I also get a lot of ideas late at night

Thanks I hope you're encouraged to check out my comic! And if you do let me know what you think!

This is based on a weird dream I had on these two characters from my comic, basically the guy with the crown was wearing a shirt with him and his friend on it. XD I actually believe it's something he would definitely do so I doodled it lol

I tend to dream about things that are very adjacent to real life, so I don't often get inspiration from them. But a while back, I had this dream about some kids exploring a swamp with one heck of a jump scare. The dream itself felt like reading a good comic, and when I woke up, it took a minute to realize the difference.

I made a comic about this not long ago:

The dream itself wouldnt actually make for a very good comic in real life, but the experience was noteworthy :smile_01: if only because it made me feel like I eat, sleep, and dream comics haha
