an author has been doing that technique for 3 months already and she still receives the pledge. I pretty sure the views don't disappear if you delete. The likes do disappear but the views stays.

Also there r too many authors using a one page drawing or unimportant announcement for a second update just to get the pledge. Now the very last day of the month fresh is bombarded by creators doing a one page of uneeded announcement, some happy chinese new year or whatever they can use to do 1 page... such desperation. To me people doing that over and over, isn't that abusing the system of discover? webtoon should look into creators who overly do that.

Sort of, I get what you mean. Someone sent an email to webtoon regarding this problem and they said they would try to implement better rules. I guess increasing the requirement of the pledge amount by a giant leap the more you earn could be one way to reduce these type of people from earning too much just from "announcement" and "illustration" art? TBH it's pretty hard for webtoon to go over every single qualified comic to check if they do in fact update a "proper" comic chapter. That would require actual human to check, not machine. And even with the requirement increased, January alone still has almost 300 creators qualified.

Yeah, comics on discover these days are full of creator notices talking about themself being injured, depress, getting into this and that matter..etc.. make me wonder why is everyone else life is full of drama, or my life is just boring.

I don’t think it’s uncommon to get sick or injured.
I’ve seen more authors taking a hiatus due to school, which is fine with me. I don’t pay them so I don’t care.

I honestly don’t think people are doing notices or announcements to milk the system that’s more for their subscribers...

It’s fine to do announcement but there are quite a handful of comic sitting with a lot of subscribers and only ever post a single illustration that isn’t even their comic related to get on the pledge list. One specifically comes to mind that has been posting just 2 illustrations a month for 3 months straight before posting an actual comic update. Those are the one that I think is kinda milking the system

Yes, for several months when they were just posting illustration as their updates.

This is sooo true. I see alot of romance, yaoi, yuri kind of stuff reaching the tops everywhere.. I'm almost doubting to make a side comic with this genre, just to see how that goes and if peoplewould jup over to my original comic.

I agree with you but if they can have time to further their favoritism and picking stuff manually daily and also manually manipulate everyone's comics by throwing comics further and monitoring their favorite to never fall, then why can't they take some time to actually look into this. It's not that hard to just check quick if the 2 updates are a drawing or a real chapter.

I do that too tho..when i update a notice i delete it so that i only have 'episode' in my comics.. because some of the readers complain that i update too much notice than an actual episode. But if i put notice in the episode 90% of them just ignore it

Well the views you get from a notice not even worth it.. it makes your comics get fewer readers and drop your position in top 30.. like usually you get top 10 then you will get to top 17 for one week because of that..

1000 reasons to live, I remember how webtoon placed it #1 even though the likes were only 100-200 and it could ridiculously beat comics of 8,000 likes... Anyway after a while webtoon dropped it and left on its own it fell very far down i saw it.

Then suddenly when they dropped it, a new favorite comic they probably picked to replace 1000 reasons was a comic who unlike "age matter" and the others, was promoted nowhere. It was always in page 2, never able to rise on its own. But suddenly, overnight started to beat all the top comics without webtoon promoting it anywhere. Same cheating as they did for 1000 reasons. Just place it there, no effort. we all know how it got 1-2nd place, the same way as 1000 reason to live.

Yes, that comics has been constantly on since it started, now the subs aren't going up as fast as before so webtoon is putting it in fresh pick again. and will keep doing that until it's the most popular.

webtoon has managed to show everyone the true definition of a hypocrite by being just that at its fullest. Their ways of cheating is various, a lot of different ways, they'll probably find more rotten ways in the future as well.
