Is it worth it to put a novel on tapas?

Tapas is just a platform like everywhere else Unless you have some magic key to success, you won't know if anyone will read you on Tapas or Wattpad or any other site prior to posting your creation there.

I don't see why not. You don't really have much to lose if you don't become popular and if anything, you can use Tapas as a training ground to improve your skills; see what works and what doesn't.

Depends on the book. See what stuff works here and what doesn't, and then if your novel fits, it might be worth posting. I have only posted two of my novels on here so far because a lot of them either wouldn't work, or would need some real marketing to work. My romance novel is one of the handful that has gotten big exposure, but my fantasy comedy has really struggled, sad to say, and I'm not sure exactly how to fix it.

If you really have a hit on your hands, consider pitching the book to Tapas Premium first instead of just straight-up posting it. Otherwise, free novels are a good way to reach a nice audience, though I probably wouldn't post ONLY to Tapas; its novel audience is very small compared to comics, so you'll be better off posting to 3-4 different sites at once and seeing how each one reacts differently.

As someone who has posted on Wattpad and Tapas with little "numbers" success, I would say use it as a means to get feedback on your first draft and to improve.

Try not to go in expecting to get Tapas or Wattpad famous. I'm a published author, and I still struggle to get views here and on Wattpad! But they are fabulous platforms for trying out new narrative styles, seeing what works and what doesn't, and learning new things. I've had a lot of bad habits corrected that I would not have spotted myself thanks to reader feedback here.

And if you do find your footing and gain lots of reads/subs, then...bonus!

You won't even know if they read it anyway if they don't leave a comment saying something about the story. Tapas only tallies up views, like counting clicks. They apparently have no way to ensure an episode was read after someone downloads an episode.

I guess it depends on what you're looking to get out of it.

Personally, I really enjoy it when I find a good novel to read on Tapas, and I eventually decided to start publishing my own novel here because I wanted to create something that others would enjoy. I'm not sure I'll ever make any real money off of this venture, but it's been a fun experience sharing my story with other readers, and it's also been good practice for me as a writer.
