So as I'm sure many creators are probably on this same quest I am, let's figure this out together.

I'm trying to get my comic noticed a bit more. Other than doing regular weekly updates on Tapas, Webtoon, Deviantart, and SmackJeeves, I've been looking into as many advertisement options as possible to try and get more readers. One of which is TopWebComics.

Now I've already done some advertising of my own to try and get my existing readers to vote for it there, but the resulting numbers are still very low. So I was considering maybe purchasing some ad space on TopWebComics front page to see if it maybe will help bring in some readers since getting on front page via votes isn't gonna happen anytime soon.

But just how often are people even checking out the top 100 comic list on TopWebComics anyway? It's almost ALWAYS the same popular ones, and though the ads are always different (which is good), if not many people are even on the frontpage, why bother? Is getting any ads on TopWebcomics even worth it?

Any insight will be helpful. I still might do it anyway and see if it maybe brings in any new readers, but I'm not exactly rich, and do not wish to waste money on a fruitless endeavor...

Well, it depends. If you already have a moderate amount of readers, it may not count for much. But I got a decent boost in readership when I took out ads on there.

Their square ads are only $1 and even their high end ones are only $7/day. So even if it doesn't get you much, it's not a major loss to try it out and see how it works for you.

Well buying ads worked out for me. Some days are gonna get you more viewers than others but overall I’ve gotten a good boost in views on the days I have an ad show up.

I just get the $1 square ads and pick one day a week for them to show on the site. I just pick different days of the weeks. One reason I do that is so my ad isn’t something people see like all the time to the point it fades into the background.

Oh and the square ads also show up on the vote pages so whenever people vote - the daily square ads show up under it.
