She's Tomie. The manga, if I recall correctly, is a collection of short stories that revolve around her and her . . . ehem . . . VERY ACTIVE romantic life. I don't wanna spoil anything if you guys wanna look it up, but lemme just say that you do NOT wanna look at Ito-sensei's drawings if you're squeamish. The example above's pretty average compared to some of his other works.

But if you're really looking for unfiltered godly horror in manga/comic form, you owe it to yourself to read arguably his best and most widely-known series Uzumaki. It's Eldritchian horror fine-tuned to near perfection, and with beautiful but terrifying art to boot.

oh man, i can totally see the influence. smth abt the personality of the drawings is similar

i was heavily influenced by adrian alphona in my early comic days

his drawings have so much character, and its really inspiring to see someone break out of marvels hardline house style to make something... actually good

besides that, though, i think im kinda jus wandering around tryna figure it out on my own / from life, i dont have the time to do many style studies these days

Probably a mix between the Simpsons, Peanuts, and Akira Toriyama's earlier works.

Atsuko Nakajima, she does the art to the likes of Princess Princess (below), Get Backers, Trinity Blood, Rurouni Kenshin, Hakuoki, and even Ranma 1/2!! (Obviously, I'm referring to the art for their anime counterparts here.)

I also take a lot from Hinako Takanaga.

Honestly, I pull from EVERYWHERE, but those are two that really big inspirations for me.

I can't say for sure but chances are from the tv shows/comics I've read growing up I probably internalized some styles but now I just don't recognize them. I know when I was younger I used to draw fists in a way similar to Butch Hartman on his shows though.

I've been a fan of Kazuya Minekura for a while and my bishonen style is inspired by her.

I also reallllllly like Ayami Kojima's art and tried a digital painting in her style once. Might try it again.

It's super hard to believe it now, but I aped Ayami Kojima a ton early on (particularly castlevania art, since this was before my family even had a computer or internets and googles)

Then another artist I aped a lot (which doesn't show anymore either) is Oki Mamiya, though this was later... In hum, 2005 or so.

Then a bit after that I took quite a bit of Miyamoto Kano's style

Then of course there's Phobs on deviantart, who I used to actually try to consciously ape ever since I joined DA (a decade ago) and grow frustrated because I SUCK

Now it looks like this so...Nothing learned 0/10

Tetsuo Hara (mainly the dramatic crosshatch shading. This has been a fading inspiration lately, but I still retain some of the love for overt crosshatching)

Charlie Adlard (a major inspiration, from the roughness of the lines/shading to the semi-realistic anatomic style itself)

Naoki Urasawa (c'mon, look at how varied the faces are. As far as expressions and facial characterization is concerned, he's my major inspiration)

I'm obviously not even close to any of these, but they inspire me a lot.

I only discovered her a couple of years ago, but she's been a great inspiration to me since: Kaoru Mori. I don't know if other people here have heard of her, but if you haven't, check out her work, it's amazing~

I forgot to mention one of my biggest inspirations, and I realized too late. haha.

I pull from Junko a whole bunch, and she does soooooo many series. I really love her art. <3 As for my coloring techniques, well, I just kinda pull that out of my ass. (I really suck at coloring. haha)
