Is your character on the Naughty List or the Nice List?

You know big man Santa's two lists: Naughty and Nice. Which list is your character on-- and why?

Throwing mine in to start off...

Koreal and Adi/Sae are both definitely on the Naughty list.

Adi/Sae probably starts out with at least one foot in the Nice list... but she loses that standing pretty quickly when revenge becomes a driving motive. Without giving away too much... the things she ends up doing to GET that revenge push her further and further down the Naughty list pretty quickly.

Koreal... just plain starts out on the Naughty list. Insatiably curious, and with little tolerance for unclear rules, undeserved authority, or not being given an damn good reason WHY he can't do something... he'll just do it. Dangerous? Blasphemous? Illegal? Meh. If he thinks he can successfully do it and there's no really good reason not to? Yeah. Naughty.

Lyza is the main character of my story:

Lyza is the heroic type of protagonist that she protects people around her from bad guys. She could be very kind to children and the people she interacts with. However, Lyza can get a bit too violent on her enemies but she wouldn't go as far as killing them. She never kills but she can get a bit aggressive. She also insults her enemies to throw them off their game. In total, Lyza can be around 70% nice because of her display of heroism and willing to put her life on the line for others including her disabled brother and her trusty driver.

Oh oh oh, let's see:

Alfredo (MC, Blonde Kid) sure is on the nice list, as He is very gentle and nice with those who deserve it, despite He has some "Anger Issues" yet to be resolved, He doesn't act with Malice.
Ivan (Tall guy in the middle) is as well on the nice list, after all, He set an example to everyone when it come to discipline and rules, so, He is the Paragon when its about "to behave"!
Eva (Frog girl), Naughty list, as she has the bad habit to constantly tease others and be malicious for her fun, despite How she just does it to mess with other, She simply doesn't set boundaries and don't respect others... and treat romance and relationship as trivial activities, and left many heartbroken boyfriends for sillier things like simply being dumb or boring... the only redeeming quality (That doesn't though take her out of the list), is caring deeply for her friends, especially little Alfie (who is the baby of the bunch).

I just stop to these three since they are the main trio, it would take quite a while to do all the others.

I'm honestly not too sure about Donnie (Tall Kid) so far, but AJ (Goth Kid) is definitely on the naughty list.

Donnie, while not particularly nice, does try to the best of his ability to resist the urge to physically harm people. While lately he has let his urge slip due to anger issues, he did seemingly show some level of regret for what he did, and continues to try and resist hurting people. His general behavior toward his brother though would definitely not count as "nice."

AJ meanwhile is a kid who hurts people in various ways often just for the fun of it, and has absolutely no reservations about doing do. She is very proudly "evil" and has no desire to change. She even arranges what she calls "Mischief Nights" in which she goes to random houses and quote "Does something horrible."

So for Donnie, I guess it's a matter of understanding, and weather you think he qualifies as outright naughty. Where as for AJ, I think we can all agree she's making the naughty list.

To be fair, he doesn't just charge in headfirst without doing his research. If someone tells him something is dangerous and to not do it, he'll figure out WHY it's dangerous, HOW it's dangerous, how he can MITIGATE or AVOID the danger, and whether the payoff for the risks/effort is worth it when/if he succeeds, and THEN he'll do it.

But just telling him 'Don't do that, it's dangerous' won't fly. You gotta have a damned good reason, AND tell him. That might not STOP him, but at least he'll respect you for being clear about things.

Thor, Sif, Sigrun and Ingrid are certainly on the nice list.
Gunhild is on the nice list, provided that she cuts down on the sarcasm.
Loki isn't on the nice list. Loki isn't allowed to touch the nice list. Loki isn't allowed to look at the nice list. Loki isn't even allowed to be in the same building as the nice list.

Naughty List. Whole main cast is on naughty list.

...but Kestrel, my main character, is still getting her gifts this year, she'll just steal them from other characters.
What are kids from naughty list getting as gifts? In my country it's a stick, but I think in some countries it's coals...?
Anyway, she's stealing those as well.

On the second thought, those two would be on the nice list:

Depends who you ask

My character Aina tries her best to do the right thing, shows compassion where she can, and is what many people would consider to be a "good" person.

However, she has killed more than a few people by now and is an outright enemy of the state so there's that

Complicated! I'd say she and Adi should sit down for a drink, since they have some similarities based on that description, but... the Naughty/Nice iffy-ness sounds much stronger with Aina.

If you ask my mc, he'll probably tell you he's Santa himself. But how could someone with a face like that be on the nice list?
On his record we have alcohol abuse, gambling, and treason to humankind.

Complicated is definitely the word for it It's all muddied by questions of free will and manipulation when it comes to her choices too. Bet she'd love that drink though, always happy to make new friends

For now, it‘s a little difficult to answer when it comes to my characters, since they haven‘t done anything all too bad (yet) ^^“

I wouldn‘t put Josi‘s siblings, Sofia & Amelie, on the naughty list, since they involuntarily got involved in all what transpired - although they did sneak out to keep an eye on the older two, but they might get onto the list by next year, if I get to that part of the plot.

Josi & Martin on the other hand, they both belong on the naughty list for constantly roasting each other, not listening to their superiors and also disrespecting those at times and it will just get worse with the story progressing, especially going into chapter 4 & 5 next year! xD

I'll go through a couple (literally all the ones with an introduction) of characters (out-of-context spoilers?)

Rin Nizu (my protagonist) is on the nice list I'd say. She never acts with any malice, she's just always trying her best to get along with others and navigate (seemingly) complicated social situations. She helped a cat out of a tree, but other than that, she hasn't done anything overly good OR bad at this point. I think she deserves some presents this year nevertheless.

Choko Latti is definitely on the nice list. She may not be perfect, but she tries to take care of RIn and help her when she needs it. She sees the world from a very positive perspective and loves to use it to help others. The kindest soul deserves a spot on the nicest list.

Kon Nizu (Rin's brother)... undecided. He has a very pessimistic point of view and is a tad manipulative with it towards his sister, but he seems to have convinced himself it's for her own health and safety. So his actions aren't necessarily GOOD, but he's convinced himself that it is. Had his own life experiences somehow been different, I'm sure he'd make much healthier decisions for himself and his sister, but unfortunately this is who he is rn. So what list would I put him on (with the context of what's happened in the currently released episodes)? I'd say... more nice than naughty, but that could just be my author bias.

Naughty.

Oritsu Kanjiru is on the nice list (imo)! She's a leader with a seemingly cold heart, BUT she started the Cat Club with the intent of making the city a better place to live and at the cost of not getting to live a normal youth. The full extent of her character hasn't been fully explored yet, but she clearly has a soft side buried somewhere under all that hard-ass leadership... ness... Idk, more author bias

This episode isn't out yet, but I'll just say he's on da nice list

Erik is quite a nice individual, albeit with something of a cold and manipulative undercurrent to his character. Mostly, he goes out of his way to assist people in any capacity. Characters like Ragnar and Zeta Toad, who has not yet appeared, however, are definitely on the naughty list.
