January? anyone else feeling it?

Haven't posted in the forums in a while since I've been so busy with the Writer's Camp, work and other projects. How's everyone doing? Anyone feel the January fatigue? Like I just wanna sit there and watch Bird Box (how awesome was that movie?)

Classes are about to start...And it's that dreaded waiting period right before. Getting anxious just thinking about how my break's over and I'm gonna have to start crunching work again.

Def can say yeah to January fatigue. Mostly everyone else is like "New year, let's do this!" and I'm wiped out from the shit storm that was Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas...I need a break from all the goin-ons of those three months. This is also when the monotony of it all hits me, and I feel like I'm trapped in a loop.

Seems like after the holidays I wake up almost everyday with back/neck/shoulder pain; now my left ankle has been getting this weird pain in it at times; all I want to do is sleep all day, but I get up coz things to do. I watch TV and movies coz I wanna watch stuff, but then I feel bad like I wasted time that I could be doing something else. I onno...I think I just need a month after the holidays to recover from the holidays.

Pretty much the same boat, buddy. January is exhausting.
It's back to full time for me after a Christmas break, and usually I burn myself out trying to get comic stuff done. I don't feel recovered at all, and my weekends feel infinitely short.

I need a week to just sit and watch shows or play games and not worry about work, comic, or my D&D campaign.

I can't tell if it's January fatigue or my regular, normal fatigue. Maybe they're just stacked on top of each other.

I'm soooo in need of a break. My dayjob is well payd but super frustrating at the moment... Retailjob, jeah, there wasn't much freetime durring the hollydays and because I was working on the inventory and admin - stuff after that, people from the store think I'm doing nothing because "pc stuff isn't important" -.- (rantmode off)

January has definitely kicked my butt so far! Was sick for about the first 2 weeks...only just starting to feel better now but still fatigued though

@charliesackett I'm in the same zone- My reg fatigue kicks in between late September/October coz me working all summer; then the January fatigue piles on top after the holidays...

@Kittosaurus I've been lucky so far to not get sick, but it usually hits in January or February- right when my fatigue hits its peak.

It's not so much January as it is WINTER.

With the holidays over, all we have to look forward to is long, cold, and possibly snowy days until possibly April. The sun attempts to breakthrough, but the clouds prevent it.

It's just so much 'blah'.

I kinda wish people kept their Christmas lights on throughout the winter at night to kinda make it feel less drab out, but that obviously people probably don't want to be reminded of the holidays anymore after the insanity they can bring.

Yeah, January is getting to me. Luckily the sun has been out over the last days. The lack of sunlight over the preceding months has been rough on me. I just feel so tired all the time. I have been struggling with returning symptoms of depression since October, but I think all the christmas holiday nonsense made it worse. Working is also somewhat stressful right now with a lot of things needing to be organized because of the new year. But with the sun out and a week off from my dayjob ahead of me, I'm feeling pretty confident that my mood will improve. I also bought some nice winter clothes that should arrive tomorrow, because god dammit I deserve something to make me happy ^^

I can also relate to @Shanny8 a lot. The bad conscience about watching TV or playing games instead of doing something "useful" is haunting me every day

January's treating me pretty well so far (i don't typically feel a fatigue specifically associated with it) buuuut 2018 was my first year working on webcomics, so I'm totally feeling a little bit of "post holiday recovery fatigue". Namely I took December off to work on holiday related side projects, with about a month and a half of comic buffer to get me through. But now returning to comic creation I'm a little sluggish and my buffer has complety depleted lol. It's just a matter of getting back into the swing of things, but it's no fun starting that buffer back from 0. So that I'm definitely feeling u_u

I read Hollywood doesn't bother to release the good movies until around April - May. Maybe it's because we are all too tired and depressed and our wallets depleted from the holidays? Oh well...let's get through January and keep writing. As much as possible lol

@MST3KFan I wish I could be as hopeful for spring- but I while I like the warmer weather, the pollen does a number on my allergies. I take allergy meds, but here the pollen count gets beyond what people can deal with at times, and the allergy meds barely help. Not saying I'm faring well right now(dry eyes/nostrils- which can get sore when it really gets cold), but I can deal with winter better than I can with spring & summer.
