Ko-Fi does not allow censored nudity. What to do?

Turns out Ko-Fi doesn't allow any type of nudity even if censored which is dumb. My image is not sexual. Pretty innocent bath scene. I did plan to maybe sell an uncensored version but it seems I won't be able to even post the censored one. Any place I can sell either one?

I do know we have some artists here that sell the NSFW version of their work. I would appreciate their input. Since it is an image I plan to add for my novel. (Obviously the censored version the uncensored was just an idea).

For context the bath scene was like when Nami from One Piece takes a bath and is covered/censured with steam.

Yeah I am aware that has been a Ko-fr rule for a long while. I think most artists sell thier NSFW stuff either on gumroad, itch.io, patreon, subcribstar. Since they are pretty lewd freindly (Patreon has more restriction for more taboo stuff but I doubt nude lady art will not cross any lines)

I really don't understand why Ko-Fi offers a NSFW tag when they don't even allow NSFW. All of what Ko-Fi considers "NSFW" is SFW in the literal sense.

Single images Im not 100 sure. I do know people make tiers where users get access to all nsfw pieces. I know gumroad allows it 100% and itch.io is same but that is not as popular compared to putting up a whole spicy art book collection on there.

It has to do with paypal pollicy but I would still remove that nsfw tag in ko-fi since it is not true. I will check them out. Don't really plan to make a NSFW but did want to offer an uncensored version. Since Ko-Fi had a shop I was like "why not sell here!" But that came crashing down fast.

I am looking for a mini shop to sell it if I do sell it. It is honestly not needed but I liked the idea.

you may be able to ask on the discord for elaboration on what the policy on nsfw is coz even i dunno how that works much less that there was a tag but if anything i think itch.io is the better alternative since gumroad had some shit with there leadership sometime back about abusing user data or some other nonsense

Its mainly for games, but alot of people now days are selling novels, comic,ect as downloadable PDFs. They have a category for that. Its small but alot of comics nowdays

I made a ko-fi account because it doesn't require monthly payments like Patreon. I also thought I could post NSFW content because Kofi has an NSFW tag. Boy, I was wrong...

I might need to stick with Patreon after all. Although @Freemints30 recommended new websites I have never heard of before, thank you!

The advantage of Ko-Fi is that it only takes 0-5% fees while patreon takes 8% always.

What do I mean?
Ko-Fi has a gold membership that is worth getting once you make $120 a month up. That way it takes a stable ampunt of money instead of always taking a 5% fee. Let's say you make $2k a month then Ko-Fi would only charge you $6 even if you make $30k a month the story is the same. While patreon will always take an 8% fee regardless if you win $1 or $100k USD. (Ofc I am using extreme examples)

An idea for you is keeping both and posting all SFW on Ko-Fi and all NSFW on patreon. I would do it but honestly it is not worth getting a patreon for 1 NSFW image (my case).

and honestly i absolutely get having a preference for ko-fi with the whole fees thing especially having had ko-fi gold for a bit. paypal still takes their cut but there's also the option for stripe too if you don't wanna deal with their mess (i just don't personally know how their fees work)

@XiuLyn_12 quick update. Sadly it seems no one could help me on that server. It was to be expected since it is an "ask the community" thing.

At first a senior moderator answered me without really knowing the nsfw rules but they did warn me to take their advice with a grain of salt which is totally fair.

After that what let me down was when an admin answered me.... they didn't know anything as well and instead suggested I contact site support sending them my work.

Support is really slow unless you have the gold membership and I don't want to send my unreleased story to a stranger.

I ultimately decided to keep ko-fi as a tip jar while selling all my stuff on patreon. Sure they take a bigger cut but their nsfw policies are much clearer.

I also found out you have to say your site is nsfw in ko-fi if you show an image with just a tiny bit of cleavage. Normally nothing happens but if you get reported your page can get unpublished. Honestly don't want to take such a huge risk.

Hopefully, my experience can help others. And thank everyone for their help/attention.

P.S. I am asking around but it seems many other authors left ko-fi due to those super strict nsfw policies. Guess ko-fi is not for everyone.

About kofi's stance on nsfw stuff in general, I remember there being a case of an artist (don't remember their name at this point) who got their kofi account banned over posting nsfw art outside of kofi (on twitter I think) - some additional info on why some may avoid kofi (and be dissatisfied when kofi is being promoted as patreon replacement from time to time)

i don't make nsfw so i guess that's why i'm so out of the loop but it's honestly annoying how strict the rules for some places are. like any mature works i make (like my current project) has less to do with nudity but there's certain darker topics so idk...

Yup it is in their policies. If you post any link or anything related to nsfw be it your social media or other you get banned. You have to basically create an alt persona for Ko-Fi.

I don't think it was report abuse. While investigating I found numerous people who lost their account before starting for having a link to another place they sold nsfw drawings. That being said it is in their policies you can go around it by making a linktree unless they decide to check all your links.

If said person had a link to their twitter that would explain the ban. It also gets me mad how super strict they are considering I don't do nsfw. Sure I did think about maybe adding an option for 1 nsfw image but good thing it got me investigating all their nsfw policy. Imagine having 1k followers to get banned for 1 novel chapter insinuating sex (yup any form of sexual activity being implied is instant ban).

i get the whole them trying to defend from paypal's mess but it's still kinda crazy especially for having external links. like if it's not a direct link then it makes sense to have more leeway but i guess they wanna be vigilant
