Thanks for the review, I appreciate it!
Not to be the guy that defends himself from negative reviews, but I do have a couple things to follow up on...
the narration is a crutch. At no point at all has anything the narrator ever said (in either the per-page recaps or the per-panel commentary in the first few pages) been any useful, nor entertaining.
Entertainment wise, I can't argue with you. If you weren't entertained then you weren't entertained. But as far as utility, I would argue that a recap and a bit of lore is necessary for a weekly comic. Maybe not for someone binging each page one after another, but they are also designed to be skippable (as you can see); either if you don't feel like reading, or if you're re-reading the comic and don't need to read it again.
But after waiting the 7 days for the next installment, it might not seem so tedious... maybe.
you've wasted quite a few pages running in circles because of this unexplained choice...
Don't really know what you mean by this... Unless you're saying that the pages I did spend on this subject are by default "wasted". In which case, all I'll say is I hope you find these pages funny.
it just feels more cruel than plain stupid on his part.
Hmm... Definitely wasn't my intention to make it "cruel". What makes it cruel to you?
This thing of having similar designs for all characters...[etc.]
I don't have much to say about anyone's art critiques (I acknowledge this in my profile). I use Power Point for the art and graphics... Yeah, I know lol... And to be honest, I'm probably not going to change that anytime soon. I tried but couldn't get the hang of photoshop or any similar program. And as far as hand drawing the whole thing, takes up too much time. Everything about this strip visually was designed to make the art easy for me. I care more about the story.
I feel like this really wants to be a fun, simple, straight to the point strip, but there's some unnecessary structure that's weighing it down. Imo you should let it fly and do its thing. Don't talk over it.
This part I don't really understand. I'm assuming it's a summary, but it's kinda vague and doesn't directly correlate with previous critiques. "Don't talk over it" I imagine references the narration, but I don't really get the rest.
Just need a little clarification here is all.
