Let’s have a chat about birds!

I wanna start some conversations here, and you know what? I like birds! So let’s talk about birds! Send me your pets, or your favorite kind of bird... just... bird, you know? Wholesome time!

I’ll start off that I really like barred owls!! They’re round and good and they hang out in the woods near my house! I usually like to go birdwatching for them in the summer, and I usually find their big eyes staring me back haha

Birds are epic. If you like birds, you may like later installments of my comic. Basically, birds are the bringers of life in the universe where it takes place, and there is a massive godly bird that watches over each continent on the planet. The main continent is watched over by a giant kiwi bird with an impressive wingspan. And the entire land is just filled with kiwi birds. Everywhere. So, so many kiwi birds.

Also related, I've taken up birdwatching and I have been trying for years to spot/attract a tufted titmouse. I'm having a really hard time. I wanna see one in person tho because they look incredibly cute in pictures.

They're from a family of starlings ^^ I think they're more prominent in Asian regions? They can imitate people too like parrots

Just like toucan birds, parrots pave the way for beautiful, vivid colors! But what's the science behind parrots talking and mimicking noises? An interesting question indeed.

I love birds! I don't have any as pets, but I did go to a bird sanctuary where they had dozens of budgies! I took a bunch of photos of them but here's one of my favorites:

I love birds (as all animals, though), and have a lot of species on my farm, including a few short eared owls, hawks, harriers etc (raptors are my favorite).
We're being specially careful with our raptors, to the complete bafflement of the local pest control authorities who cannot get why we would refuse to poison rodents with their free poison. Sometimes I wonder if the 20th century reached my isolated location ^^. (we do control overpopulations of rodents, because of hantavirus, but NOT with poison).

Moscow has quite a lot of starlings thought (never seen those in other regions) and they are amazingly beautiful!!

I like crows and ravens. I never seen them up close but I do like them very much. ;v;

There's an abundance of Starlings where I live, and they're not even native lol. They're considered an invasive species and are one of few birds in the country that are not covered by any sort of wildlife/migratory bird protection act. Which coincidentally means that they're also one of the only wild birds you can save and rear from babies without a rehabilitation license.

Also known as Сыч. In Russian, it's euphemism for unsociable, deeply introverted people, who like to sit at home most of the day, when they can. Seemingly because this bird prefers to sit inside the hollow in the tree during all daylight hours. Many of my math buddies are like this bird, and they're nice people (even despite they can look grumpy from the first sight, if you don't know them closely), so I like this bird.

Oh my gosh I was getting ready for the day and came back to so many birds! I love them all, especially the starlings. I don’t see many of those where I live, we mostly just have woodpeckers and grackles that peck around!
