Let’s have a chat about birds!

I think it was a family gathering when my cousin's ill-mannered kid found a baby sparrow long ago. I found her playing with it in the kitchen, said she found it in the backyard, and I tried to get it free and put it back (since my dad, who was very much into animals as well, had taught me stuffs about baby birds). But the kid threw a tantrum, so the people there made me leave her alone. I'm not the type who starts disputes, especially due to a kid, so I left them alone. The baby bird died. I felt so bad and angry, but as usual, I just kept silent. And that part of me is still one of the things that I hate about myself.

Sorry if I made this dramatic, but it's just one of the moments I couldn't forget. Especially since I really love animals.

p.s. i hate my relatives from my father's side, most of them are toxic.

thet are a quirky bird. We trained our chickens to come when we call "here kitty kitty" and they will eat basically anything, so you can give them your food scraps, and they are more that happy to eat them. when we would eat on our deck, they would beg for food. XD

This just reminded me that our house on Vashon Island would get wild peacocks nesting on it. They'd nest in our tall grass fields and hang out on parts of our roof.
Anyone who thinks they're cool - yes - but they are louder and more annoying than a rooster crowing. Or doves. Oh my god. Peacocks never shut up it seems like

I like to eat chicken, especially schnitzel. Very good source of protein.
But... if I'd like them as a "persons" (I mean, empathizing them, these stuff), I couldn't eat them anymore. So I can't afford it to myself

I understand where you are coming from, but I think when you raise your own food, you gain a respect for the life that has fed you. This is probably why I really hate wasting food. especially chicken.

For some weeks ago, my girlfriend found an owl with a broken wing on the road. Indeed, she is very compassionate and always picks up dyeing and wounded animals, takes care of them, cures them and then releases them or gives them to shelters. But for this to me it was a wild bird and we didn't know how to treat it. To tell the truth, we spent a whole day travelling around the city until we get some information where to bring it. Fortunately, our neighbour has birds at home and he offered us some bird peanuts we could feed it whille it was with us. It was really very miserable and pitiful. In the end, we found a man from the zoo who agreed to take him.

Contrary to all appearances, my favourite flying bird is the raven I love their intelligence and playfulness. There are so many studies about all of the things they do as a society, such as looking after their old and sick, things that go against the expected "survival of the fittest" mentality for birds.

Out of all birds, my all-time favourite (and overall favourite animal) is the penguin. They're just such cute little waddling blubber-butts and masters at surviving in the most harsh of environments!

I have birds that live near my window, so sometimes they wake me up. They have like a planned chirping song or something, because it's either a steady amount of chirping, followed by silence, then a few chirps that are a different bird, and then the first bird steadily chirping. I have a recording of this happening on my phone. There's also this other chirping song that they do, that I can't remember, but I know they do it. The chirping probably should be annoying, but I like it because I can recognize it. I've never seen what the birds look like, but I'm assuming that they're blue jays This one time I saw a baby bluejay jumping around, and I just looked at it. Then it's mother swooped down and hit my head with it's talons.

I had a lot of fun writing this. Birds are great, and apparently they're part dinosaur, which is also really cool. My favorite bird is probably the blue jay because they're blue, and blue is my favorite color.

There's also look-out birds usually. Where I live, there's over 3 species that will have look-out birds. You'll hear one do a certain short chirp call, and not a second later, you hear another one of the same species several dozen yards away, do the same call back. And then a third. To say, all clear, all clear. Cute to know about, really annoying when you hear them start it and you're like "sh...shut up... please.. thanks for telling me it's all clear, I get it, but SHUT UPPPPPP." They do it a lot when there's a bunch down getting bugs and seeds.
