When I finish my story (in about 120495 years, aprox), I really want to do like an author I read (Jesulink, author of 5 elementos, it's in Spanish tho, as far as I know) and draw shorts of some AUs and compile them in a phisicaI book <3 we shaII see about that tho, but it's a cooI idea c:

"It’s just based off of the early concept of what became the now canon original story" Oh boi I really like that <33 for stories that have been on the planning stage for quite a while big changes are bound to happen, so it can perfectly work as a different story on its own - yours sounds like it's been through a big change tho, and the premise rules <333 Best of lucks on that, it sounds super interesting.
(I'll also take the liberty to share some of the first drawings of my baby boy Arckan because I think it's the most hilarious thing to see asfhkjsalg he went from edgelord to sweetest boi over the course of the years (the story hasn't changed all that much tho, so I doubt I'd be able to do as much as you x'D)).
Sounds reasonable c': In my case I have (kinda) only one story I've been focusing on for many many years and all my atention is always focused towards it, so I don't mind playing around with AUs at all (esp since I use that same story's characters and I get to develop them a tad more like this). But if you have plenty of stories already, getting your hands even more full with Aus can be a big problem, yes ahsjklfsg

I feel you so much x'D what I do to fight the need to draw 300 comics and 230 animatics about the AUs is to doodle everything down real fast until my needs are kinda meet. This way I'm kinda satisfied because I can see the content and enjoy it, even if it's something simpler than I had in mind. It's either that or rping the AU with a friend if they're up for it
Also don't remind me of spiderverse, I'm trying real hard not to watch that masterpiece again x'D Your story also has a nice background (being an AU of an AU, sort of), the characters must be very well fleshed out because of that <3
