Let's create an adult/mature/NSFW anthology!

Some of us creators of adult/mature/NSFW comic are toying around with the idea of creating an anthology (thanks to Menbung for coming up with the original idea) on Tapastic.

We are moving the discussion to this forum! It's a closed forum, so register first, and then wait for approval to access the boards

Although we understand that Tapastic is a service that wishes to remain SFW in general (especially when read on mobile devices), we would like to gain some visibility within the community, and having an anthology would be one step in that direction. To be completely clear => Abolutely no porn

Submit to: infectedbloodcomics@gmail.com (or PM via Tapastic or in the dedicated forum)
Submissions allowed: must be original, previously unpublished content by each contributor alone or in collaboration with other contributors. Color, B&W and CGI/3D content is acceptable.
Anthology content: sex, gore, adult situations, anything catering to an adult public, except for porn. We do not want something pieced together without any thought: we are aiming for works of art!
More specifically: Gore is fine, sex is fine, erotica is fine, porn is NOT, sad excuses for violence and/or sex and/or gore are NOT.

Promotion: each contributor must agree to promote the anthology at least on their Tapastic accounts by posting on their wall to their own subscribers a message about the anthology on the first day of publication of the issue. Contributors are also welcome to promote the anthology again as soon as their own content is up. Contributors are further encouraged to promote their fellow artists/writers on any other venue they can think of (avoiding spam, though!).
Infected Blood will promote the anthology by following the guidelines given above for all contributors, and also on her website (http://www.infectedbloodcomics.com), her Twitter account (@InfBloodComics), her Facebook page (InfectedBlood) and her Tumblr account (...).

How does copyright work?
Each author will retain full copyright to his or her own work. As the anthology curator and Admin of this forum, Infected Blood will simply host your content on Tapastic.

What am I getting out of this?
Promotion! Networking! In general, a great chance to promote NSFW, adult content of your and other like-minded artists' and writers' work. Read the description above for more details.

Will I be featured on Tapastic?
Tapastic is very clear on this: they want to keep their platform as SFW as possible. So, no, your work will never be featured on Tapastic in general. This is why we wish to foster readership of NSFW adult content there: we know it exists, we know it won't be featured, but since it's accepted by Tapastic, we are welcome there and we can (and should) join forces to gather readership, promote our work and create good networking.

Can you tell me more about the allowed content?
Sure! Here's what's allowed, along with what counts as erotica (acceptable) vs. porn (not allowed).
Nudity yes, genitals yes.
The thing is, human mind works in strange ways, it's more erotic and peeps get turned on more with partial nudity, so for example: a female in a sexy pose with a cleverly placed object covering her genitalia it's generally more arousing than showing the full thing. So there's that to consider. You can show genitalia but for a better effect on the reader, if eroticism is what u seek, covering a little would make the crowd go nuts.

Sexual nudity, that's a no, Tapastic guidelines say no no.
Hentai no.
Line between erotica and porn:

Mmm, a girl eating a banana can be erotic, and girl puttin' the banana in her P@#$" it's porn.

A man nude with a glass bottle covering his manhood it's erotic, a man puttin' the glass bottle in another man's a"" it's porn.

So explicit representation of the sexual act are generally considered as porn.

Homosexience here it's a fine example of a comic that walks on this fine line, it's erotic, yes, it's sexual, yes, but it never goes full
hardcore.

Ero vs Porn. Round 1: A guy is cuming:

Ecchi/erotic: Shot of the guy's face blushing and then a volcano erupting.
Porn: Shot of the penis ejaculating.

So erotic could be hinting the act, porn could be straight showing it.

Yo boys and girls, nice to have a thread, that way peeps can contribute with their ideas and inputs.

I just want to say to all peeps that find this idea interesting that there are many ways to go around it, you don't need to have a 20 page short story to contribute, you perfectly can (in my opinion):

• Do illustrations.
• Write poems and illustrate them.
• Do one-shots.
• 4 koma

Use your creativity to come up with new ways of expression, but it has to be for mature audiences and I think it would be best if we feature original content, coz that's what we try to promote, our original content and ideas.

With that being said I would mainly do ero-guro (no porn, don't worry).

I would be willing to do illustrations and maybe short comics. Also, could you specify what, in this instance, is the line between erotic/adult artwork and pornography? Nudity yes, genitalia no? Sexual nudity yes, graphic hentai-style pinups no? The line between eroticism and pornography is a bit hazy in my head lol.

I can do 15 min bloody (and messy) doodles like this to go along with short stories or something! I can draw guts and gore too, they're fun. I like guts and am unphased by body horror.

Here's a bloody scene from my comic. I got no problem with drawing this kind of stuff, but I feel some people might take offense with the amount of gore I post. Most of the time I hide this kind of stuff behind dialogue

OK, I updated the description in my original post with @Menbung's guidelines about erotic vs. porn (awesome stuff, by the way, thanks). There's 8 of us, so far. If we can pick another 3 or 4 people, then I'd say we can get this thing started!

BTW, I'm ok with creating the group account. You can send me your stories/illustrations and I will post them, if that's ok with everyone.

Two more questions:

1. Should we create the anthology and publish it on Tapstic in one go or should we publish, say, a story/illustration regularly to completion? If so, how often? One a week, twice a week?
2. Should we add something explicit about no pedophilia and no animalia, or do these fall automatically under the no porn label?

I think we should publish regularly to completion, like other Tap series to get more exposure, and I believe those two automatically fall under the "no porn" rule.

This is really nice, but you have explicit acts that I'm afraid fall under the porn label (although I personally wouldn't see your particular comic as porn - but I'd rather not get into arguments about how fuzzy this interpretation can be), so I'm afraid we can include this.

Currently, I have a violent story with some gore and a little nudity in the back burner, so I'll volunteer that once I clean it up. Sorry I can't give a preview, not even in private. Still, if you wish to have a look at my current comic (rather NSFW, but still VERY tame, compared to another long story that will start next year), here it is.
