I still draw in a very cartoony style, because I draw very quickly and I want to be able to capture details without too much technical precision.
I also like things to be super expressive, because that's always appealed to me whenever I looked at other works.
Here are a couple characters I created for my new series "The Moonlight Manifesto".
I have kind of an old school dark fantasy style. It uses only black, white and a single greytone as a self-imposed limitation. I can't say I've fully found it. I still experiment learn new things all the time.
Biggest Influence by far is Berserk, especially the early/golden age arc style. It didn't just influence my style, it's why I became a comic artist in the first place.
Vinland Saga was a later influence.
That's the Manga side. Also from my home country there's Tuoni Myllylä, Petri Hiltunen...

I have a very cartoonish Disney-like style since I've used How to Draw Disney Characters books to improve my drawing skills.
For some reason I never saw this comment 
but yes, he’s 21-22 throughout his storyline. He’s just a little guy. This reminds me, that arcane study was probably what inspired me to work on simplifying some of my character’s hair (especially Victor) because at some point later I edited the hair arcane study above to look like this
And I realized how much easier to draw/nicer looking it was. I think it influenced how I draw hair now.
My habit is that whenever I see a style I like, I always want to try imitating it. So you can often see me painting in one style for a while, and then after some time, I start painting in another style. In short, I'm learning from multiple sources, and once I get the hang of it, I integrate it into my own creations.
To be honest, I'm not sure if this is good or bad, because this way, I might not become proficient in any single style.
At the moment, my favorite art style is "Art Nouveau". Although my manga is in an ink painting style XD.
As you can see, these images have very different styles, so I've already become confused about what my own style actually is! XD
I try to include things I like to see in other art styles! 
I love bright colors, bold lineart, and high contrast between dark and light colors. I'm definitely not satisfied, because there are a LOT of things I need to work on... 
But I'm improving slowly and that's really what matters to me. 
Lost lots of older work but mines based on what fits the story I'm trying to tell in the moment:
- mostly Videogames (Fighting Games, Rpgs, Horror and Dark Fantasy games)
- Music Videos and rock bands from 90s and 2000s,
- Shonen Anime
- Hindu and spiritual art
- guy fashion
- classic Disney animated films/ Tim Burton and other western animations
I never like to limit myself settling with a 'True style', while I do have about four different stories of varying styles, I'm also open to whatever new mood or influences come.
Guess it fun & feels natural blending stuff as I grew up around so many different personalities and cultures (childhood between England, the US and Trinidad).
I do have a tendency to use sharp edges and love high contrast
Enjoy once in a while to use rounder shapes eg. this Retro Disney version of Evan, been planning to do the entire cast at some point in this style

THE HUDGE (an old videogame Idea inspired by Hinduism, Goddesses and Scifi- that I plan to transform into a comic series in future) all these patterns were made from scratch

and well the 3d Era you guys see on on Forums often, the 3-d better captured the AAA Action-Horror and creepy moments of Sickboy. Though I've done them in other styles for Chibbi Collabs on Discord.
I think it takes most people a long time to become satisfied with their art, but I think your style is very distinct and consistent which is always good imao

originally from Trinidad. US I'm always back and forth, did my studies in Florida too, but England was prolly the shortest, like 2-3 years was bec of my Dad's had to work in Scarborough, i was real small back then but the old- english and gothic stuff was facinating i remem.
Great question! A lot of people inspired my art style. Bryan Lee O’Malley is a personal hero of mine (who I got to meet in person last October!) His artwork as well as Bruce Timm and Rumiko Takahashi have also been big influences to me.

I'm originally from the US but a dual citizen of the Dominican Republic since my Dad's family is from there. All of us but my mom are Dominican citizens. I've been living here since I was 12. What's your favorite thing about the islands? I wonder how much the DR and Trinidad might have in common
A lot of stuff has inspired my work, but I'd say the biggest inspirations to my art are Genndy Tartakovsky, Bruce Timm, Alfons Mucha and Go Nagai.
These four really helped me develop my style more - Genndy and Timm in my early years, Mucha and Nagai when I got older.
I enjoy juxtaposing slick, UPA-inspired designs with wilder, psychedelic imagery.

Never been to DR yet but had a classmate from there when I was in Miami.
Fave thing about the islands, the laid back vibe and community/ family-ish personality of mostly everyone you meet, we call mostly everyone older than us aunty and uncle here lol. Is it like that in DR too?
(although it can be a double edge sword: innovation doesent get far bec of laid back attitudes and you got to know where to draw line with the friendlyness bec they take it to heart and they'll wanna advise you to death lol).

My fave is Divali 'festival of lights' because of all the colorful activities, music and food (my mom's side of family are mostly Hindu, grew up around cousins who do classical indian dance and i did some basic training in indian classical music so those deffo had a huge impact in my art).
Also these were some older pieces for a short slice-of-life comic i used to make based on festivals here
Its pretty obvious by looking at my art style, I was inspired by old Disney stuff, which funny enough was out of convenience more than anything. Back in 2017, I had wanted to go for a more anime esc style but I was disney films I was reference drawing from of course didnt have that style. Back then I didn't know how to apply a more anime look to my animal characters, and I didnt want to have human characters be in one style and animal characters in another (I know Kingdom Hearts does it but thats its own thing). At some point, I figured that, since I was reference drawing disney stuff for the character designs and such, might as well do the same for human character designs. And as time went on, I figured that it would help make my series stand out visually. While other stories may have had styles more reminiscent of anime, manhwa and maybe even the 'calarts' stuff that was all the rage in the 2010s, you'd have my series whose style was not even close to that. Of course I could never fully master the disney style one to one, especially as I implemented elements from other art styles I liked, like Toriyama's older art style for the dragon ball manga and styles from artists I followed online.
If you asked me, I dont know, a few months ago if I liked my art style, I would probably say yes but it could do with some adjustments. Now, Im not so sure. I've realized the flaws in going with this style, one of them being that, while it stands out on tapas, there's a reason why more people like stuff that look more like anime/manwa. And in general, my art style isnt as pretty as those types of styles and could be considered 'generic'. And one thing I couldn't account for back then was the furry connotation, which granted isnt really fair since the designs of my characters are fare less flamboyant than what you would see with other furry styles (I guess the same could also apply to the first reason). And this next reason may not make much sense but I feel like in trying to emulate the disney style, Ive trapped myself in a state of being derivative. What Im drawing has been drawn before by other more talented people and all Im doing is coasting off their success while also preventing me from trying something new. I may be distorting things my professors have told me about things not related to my style because, believe it or not, Im very insecure about my abilties as an artist and art school has brought them out to the forefront but I dont want this to turn into a vent session.
Am I open to the idea of changing it completely. It depends but I want it to be for the right reasons. I dont want to change it because of pressure, or to appease others. Just like how Im never going to make my characters anime people with dog and cat ears to appeal to the tweenage girl audience sites like tapas and webtoon pander to, Im wont develop a completely different art style from the one I currently have unless I want to try something. I also understand that if I do change my art style completely, my characters would look completely unrecognizable from how they looked before, and most probably loose any appeal they had before.
We have lots of holidays too though it sounds like you have more. we're mostly catholic and adventist. We tend to refer to strangers pretty affectionately here too, though for older people it's still more common to call them Senora (you probably know what that means lol) or Don (lord) young people though are "amigita, mi amor," etc. And people around our ages are always cousin
