Comic: Between The Tied
Genres: BL, Drama, Romance
My comic is mainly a slow burn and I think I'm looking forward to my own story more than my readers are ༼ ༎ຶ ෴ ༎ຶ༽ Things progress really slowly (but surely!) but I love it when I have to do panels that have to do with details and ambiance. Even just tiny Easter eggs bring me joy lol I can insert the little things that make up a character's personality and soul. Brendan, in particular, is fun since he's a big fan of BTS (like me).
As for my least favorite parts - I frickin' loathe having to draw backgrounds. Although I love it at the same time because it challenges me. Hate it since it takes so much time AND I'm a nitpicker for details so... not a good combo ┐(´д`)┌
Making my comic is difficult when it comes to producing the actual visuals. I handle everything since it's my first comic and I don't think I'll ever be hiring anyone else because I mostly do it for myself. Basically, I handle the writing, line art, coloring, blah blah. Before, I used to consider the comic a hindrance since I'm busy with the real world but now it's my stress-reliever. I'm in my first year of college and I'm studying medicine so that already says a lot about my life (´・ω・)…。oо○ Again, the story's flow is slow but it's only the beginning until comes out the... twists and turns. One of its other genres is drama, after all. I'm only getting started!
Actually, it's no secret that Daniel is my favorite character. He's a cinnamon roll and I simp, okay
(ಥ_ʖಥ) I designed him after many people but he was created from my love for Sharon Needles (drag queen) when I watched her on her season on RuPaul's Drag Race (S4). Daniel's hair? Totally Sharon. But I definitely take Daniel's style and aura from Park Jimin (BTS) - AKA his androgyny and disregard for gender in anything. Brendan is his complete opposite (^艸^)
BRENDAN is hard to draw. Periodt. I think it's the hair and eyes?? His doe eyes and slicked-back hair (∥ ̄■ ̄∥)
Hmmm... the concept for my story at first was honestly basic. Two souls that are so different switch places. Simple, right? But I don't know how I put so much depth into the story (hasn't been revealed though lol). Before starting this comic, I'm first and foremost a writer. I love writing essays, fiction (FANFICTION!!!), AUs, and all that jazz. I even have threads on my main Twitter account (⌒▽⌒)Other than the writing thing, I'm part of a group wherein we roleplay with our own characters. My friends are artists themselves and one is planning her webtoon. I guess I drew motivation from her intentions as well. OH, how could I forget? I also used to do self-indulgent comics in my sketchbooks. Ah, nostalgia. But it's my first time publishing a comic so I'm really rooting for it and I hope it'll be liked by most. It started off rocky (truly ugly art lmao) but I'm getting the hang of it and I'm excited to lift my hiatus status!
Aaaand that's all? I'd love to talk more about it BUT it's just spoilers at this point hehe (・∀・)
Shameless plug: Check out my comic and delve into the world of Daniel and Brendan turned upside down! ^▽^ (Don't be put off by the first few episodes lol)
