Wild Nights, Hot and Crazy Days chronicles the life of Carmen, a young and closeted gay kid as he navigates puberty, the teen years, and his 20âs. The story runs the gamut of emotions: There are elements of triumph, tragedy, mental illness, angst, alcoholism, religious fanatism, humour, sadness, betrayal, and happiness. Content warnings: suicide (both successful and not) feature in this story. People die in accidents as well (including children). These events may invoke tears. Some homophobic language is used in places. There are also NSFW parts, especially in later chapters.
Set in the 1980âs and 1990âs (the actual story spans 1984 to 2000).
What makes this story unique is that it is a true story. Every event told actually happened in real life. Carmen is a real person. Carmen is me.
The story is completed, which makes for a good binge read. I still update it occasionally with short stories or âspecialsâ, which are also true events but didnât make it into the main story.
