Looking for a comic, help?

Ok, so it's not really me, but my mum asked me to ask you guys!
So, she was recommended to read a comic that had three letters, dash and then something. Like "NNN-NNNNN[...]".
Apparently this comic is in colour, ordinary comic pages (no scrolling format) and about an island where kids who are orphan or non-wanted are dumped on. There's also lots of cats on this island and on every page there's a cat hiding within the pages where readers are to find.
(Kinda like the snail in Adventure Time).

Does that... ring a bell??
Because I had no luck finding it but maybe you have?

i tried looking but i need more info, is it a western comic? Webcomic? Manga?

I think it's western, she didn't say anything about the style tho. I think she might've done that (since, to her, manga's only in b/w and/or screentones).

All she said was that it was in full colour.

Did she say when it was made?
Is it published with someone or is it an online comic?

Nope, she was only shown a page from someone else's phone.
So she had no idea, and she's really regretful that she didn't write down the title of the comic D:

Oh! Did you put the page through Google image?

Sometimes that helps pop things up. Though, if you can get a hold of that page again, see if you can reverse it too. Sometimes, these images don't pop up because people online reversed them.

Either that, or see if there was any signature on the page.

It was shown on someone else's phone! Someone she met on a conference showed the pictures of the comic and she thought it sounded intriguing and when she came home she forgot the name of the comic!

No, that was just explanatory, because I have no idea. Mum said the title of the comic had 3 letters, a dash and then something. That's the only thing she knew about the title and I figured it'd be better if I were over explaining it rather than giving it out vague!

It could have its own domain, being published on smackjeeves, webtoons and other, I have no idea.
Mum didn't know either, she only saw the page D:

(Tho, the guy in question did have tapas and he's an avid reader. Don't think he comments?? But I have no idea, these are my guesses D: )

Is there no way to contact the person who gave the recommendation? People don't often share comics in RL if they don't know each other, but I assume there must be some reason you can't just ask the person.

Sorry, I know that's not very helpful. I hope someone will know the comic, an end the search. XD

Nope, unfortunately!
They talked about comics when they found out that both preferred the comics instead of the movies, so he started talking about it and mum mention that I draw comics and then he showed he that one!

(He also told her that he had gone to San Diego Comic Con, and I guess that's when it was a hit xD Mum's a huge nerd and so was this guy too xD)
