Hi everyone! I'm looking for a writer who wants to pick up a new project. I'm currently writing a novel called A Half-Blood's Magic, but I have a lot of trouble with grammar and pacing. I'm looking for someone who is a capable writer to take over the writing part of my story, and I'll step back and do the storyboarding.

Here's a quick description of my novel:

In the Bellarosé Empire, vampires are ostracized. If any of their identities are discovered, they are hunted down.

Half-vampire Jin Nam is forced to hide his true identity after being drafted into the Hiraeth Military Division, a group full of powerful magic users dedicated to hunting down vampires. During his time as a soldier, he is captured by a group called the Manjuhage who intend to use him as a weapon. Tensions between the vampires, elves and humans continue to rise, war threatening to break out. Will Jin be able to help bring peace between the two sides or will he fail, leading to a catastrophic war?

I need once a week minimum of consistent writing

It seems to me you are looking for a proofreader and an editor. Not a writer.

If you let someone else do the writing while you only do the storyboard. Then it wouldn't be your story, it would be theirs.

If you don't do any of the writing then it stops being a partnership.

A proofreader will not rewrite your story for you. They will just check your grammar and that way you will have to correct it yourself after they point out your errors.

An editor will help you with the pacing but again they will not write for you. They will just give you ideas on how to execute the pacing or other ideas you wanted to show in your story.

At the end of the day you will still need to do the writing (or at least half the writing).

So you basically are too lazy to do your own work, so you want an unpaid writer to do the heavy lifting and you won't even pay him or her.

You want to make your own story, then either write it or pay somebody to write it. Don't expect somebody to do your work for you. Nobody is rushing you, practice and improve your writing, then write your novel.

If you are willing to let me give you some ideas and help formulate the plot, then sure, I’ll write with you.

It’s actually not that bad being an unpaid ghostwriter—the author’s new unpaid ghostwriter

Tbh, Snow is actually reasonable and decidedly not a jerk. I know they come off bad, but they are not demanding or mean or anything like that. Sorry if I’m rambling I just…you know?

The problem isn't that it's unpayed. The problem is how much weight they said they will carry.

The equivalent to that is a movie director saying.

Director: "Hey I need actors unpayed since it will be a free project."
You: That's fine.

Director: "I will think of the story and what it will be about."
You: Sure, sounds nice.

Director: "But I need you to think the personality of your character while writing your own lines. I also need you to bring the camera and film all the scenes. You also need to bring the materials needed to film the scenes."
You: Wait what...

Director: "I also need you to direct the movie since I have no experience directing movies, thanks."
You: Wouldn't that make it my movie?

Director: "It's my movie since I had the idea."
You: But I made the execution of the movie plus you only thought of the general concept....

Director: "Nope. It's my idea."

The OP only has the ideas and you have to do all the work. The point of being a ghostwriter is getting paid. If you don't get paid as a ghostwriter at best you get experience.

Sorry, but it sounds insane to me, jerk or no jerk, the issue is fundamentally that the OP asks for free work with no recognition (Because if you're a ghost writer that's the situation) and no compensation.

PS: This kinda sounds like an alt account.

Yeah, valid, but if you don't want to do it, then ignore it? No need to come off as condescending, since there are definitely people who would be willing to do it. Besides, its not as if she said she would be taking all of the credit.

Never said that. That was another person.

My original post was all about how it sounds that they are looking for an editor and a poofreader instead of a writer.

My second post was explaining that there was nothing wrong with being unpayed. But that the way they wrote the post made it look like they would not do half the job required in a partnership.

If the original author did not mean it that way. I suggest they clarify what they mean with "I'm looking for someone who is a capable writer to take over the writing part of my story,...".

It is not specific enough and it makes it sound like the whole writing will come from the writer.

If YOU want to take on the job even knowing so. Then go ahead and dm said person.

P.S. Asking for someone to ignore a post while you don't ignore a response is really ironic. And please don't add words to what I say.
