My comic, Between the Realms, is about a lesbian couple in a fantasy setting. There's not too many main characters (like 4 or so). The remaining 2 main characters are both male, one is heterosexual and the other is pansexual. And I'm working on a nonbinary character, but they're still in the development stages. It is a love story, first and foremost, so it takes a while before the 2 main characters have their first kiss. But even before they have their first kiss there's going to be signals here and there that they become more and more affectionate towards each other.
I try to have my characters not fall into the stereotypical tropes of same sex couples in comics and try to keep the drama surprising. I also try to steer away from the usual "One is more masculine and the other is more feminine" because I never cared for the tactic in any LGBT+ comic I've read. My 2 main characters may come off as that, but that's only appearances due to their different upbringings (since one was raised in the woods and the other was raised in the city) however they're both independent, and strong women but can also be vulnerable and soft at some points. Though they do have their different quirks, like one IS more stubborn than the other.
I'm also bisexual if that helps any, so the 2 main characters vaguely represent my experiences, personality, and even their backstories/obstacles are a basic outline of what I went through as I came out as a bisexual in the dark ages when being attracted to the same sex was demonized everywhere.. Draw what you know, right? XD
