  • Manga >>>>>> Anime

  • Chainsaw Man's art is terrible (especially the humans), and the whole thing is overrated.

  • Any manga series that sticks around more than 200 chapters has overstayed its welcome. Unless it's an anthology series where the chapters don't really have a continuity (like Doraemon) and you don't really need to read them in order.

  • I don't mind AI art. I've used several as a reference photo (I'm mostly a traditional artist). People showing off the AI-generated artwork as if feeding prompts to the generator is the same as them creating the artwork is lame, however.

I break da spaghetti, cook them and then I put ketchup on top.
When I´m still hungry I bake a pineapple pizza from the freezer
which was produced my a german company

George Lucas is a lousy director with horrible ideas who stole
the right ideas at the right time and his chaotic story was saved
by the cutting

Monogamy goes against human instincts and is just a societal construct

My man will be banned from Italy if he shows up with this take :joy:

My take one George is the complete opposite. He's a great idea man with zero execution ability of those ideas.

  1. MHA is one of the worst series in existence.
  2. Disney is a monopoly and needs to be disbanded.
  3. Sound! Euphonium is the single greatest tv show ever to grace the screen.

I agree on the zero execution abilities though.

I think his good ideas are stolen and the rest of the ideas are really cheesy

But I still loved Star Wars as a kid because it was a great scifi fairytale and that´s
how I see the movies

I have a lot of italian friends and Italy is always my favourite country when I tour with bands
because I love their simple and good food.
I ate Ragù alla Bolognese in Bologne while most of the other band members were eating
crap and I also been to small hidden restaurants all over Italy in different regions.

I just find it funny how theatrical they argue about their food traditions.

I´m a german, bread, beer, bretzel, sausages are our food, you can mix it like you
want put cheese over it or pour juice into your beer, I don´t care

Ten very correct pop culture opinions out of many;

  1. Drake was terrible long before Kendrick made a mockery of him.
  2. Kendrick is a great lyricist but his production is a snooze fest more often than not.
  3. Dungeon Meshi is a better fantasy anime/manga than Frieren.
  4. K-On was a pale imitation of Azumanga Daioh.
  5. Modern Star Trek is too obsessed with the past and the last two seasons of Discovery are exactly what the new shows should be: The future. (Pity the writing was amateurish all the way through)
  6. The only Star Wars movie worth watching is the first one from the 1970s. You can skip the other movies and miss nothing.
  7. Webtoon scroll is the worst way to draw a comic.
  8. A phone is the worst way to read a comic.
  9. Jodie Whittaker and Colin Baker were both good Doctors.
  10. You guys making Mr.Beast the king of YouTube was the worst thing that happened to that platform.

Bonus

  1. Tiktok is the worst thing to happen to the internet.

Now that is a hot take, god damn.

lol @thepenmonster you’re going to cause all the grown men Star Wars man babies to riot! :joy:

@KevinReijnders I am a big Star Wars fan I was obsessed with it as a kid but now… I think I just like to move on as a casual fan at this point.

I find myself more at peace that way.

Here’s another one. Maybe this is just my nostalgia speaking, and the history nerd too, but…

Mr. Peabody and Sherman is a good movie.

Fight me!

… BUT THE NETFLIX SHOW IS TRASH!

That's honestly the best way to approach it (and any other piece of media tbh.)

Star Wars has been and always will be incredibly influential on me as a creative, but I've been moving passed it for several years now.

I've never engaged with the fanbase all too much, especially not after the nuclear fallout that happened after the Last Jedi was released (a movie I like)

I love Star Wars and was obsessed with it when I was a kid, still love it today
but I agree with everything negative people say about it. It´s really cheesy and bad
like a lot of other very popular movies

The original is cinema perfection. The following eight are textbook examples of going to the well too many times.

As for side-projects: I will give Andor and Rogue One points for trying to do something new with the setting, but you could have stuck them in any Sci-Fi fascist state and they'd still work. Also Andor's openly "woke" politics making assholes angry was just icing.

This brings me to the problem I find with Star Wars as a whole. The original worked because it was generic, like Casablanca it distilled everything that works about the genre into a perfect experience. But that generic works against attempts to do more with the setting because the results are either pale shadows or something that doesn't need the setting at all.

Honestly? I'd rather experience some GM with the Star Wars D6 TTRPG game doing their own thing than anything official.

I'm biased for blogs because I've been blogging since the days of Geocities. I find it far more genuine than some dweeb copying whatever dance is trending.

The Star Wars man babies. They get so mad at everything. It’s why I just stopped engaging with the fandom.

Also the treatment of the actors was straight up bullying. It’s so cruel.
