Misgendering me? I donāt care. I donāt think itās a big deal. Iām good with he or she, not very fond of they but if someone wants to use it idc.
Misgendering my characters? Mistakes happen so Iād politely correct them. It also just depends as one of my characters is referred to as the opposite gender but said character doesnāt care enough to correct anyone - and no one ever asks. Over all tho, itās pretty hard to misgender my characters since itās pretty obvious. My fear is that one day people will assume the gender of my characters because they donāt conform to gender roles. Going even further my fear is that people will treat my characters as tho they belong in our world - considering in my comic everyone is equal and gender roles donāt exist. At least not in terms of behavior. How they dress, maybe, but... basically what weād consider a tomboy in our world, no one would bat an eye at. Same for what weād consider a feminine man (or a man that has traditionally feminine hobbies) - literally nobody cares because itās just an individual being an individual.
Plus in my comic, tho it hasnāt been brought up yet, gendered terminology is a big deal. For instance: what would be a female Senator in our world would be called a Senatrix. Calling her a Senator would be like a slap in the face as itās disrespectful to her actual station. However in this world āSenatorā also means āmale member of the Senateā and āSenatrixā is āfemale member of the Senateā. Rather than Senatrix being āfemale Senatorā.
But anyway, if they misgendered my characters Iād correct them. If they kept doing it, I might get annoyed.
