A certain design Style, technique, gimic etc...

Was there ever something you learned that really made you wanna draw more?

For me it was when I first started adding perspective. I was so obsessed with drawing for like a month.

Has anyone else had something like this? Please tell me I'm not weird!

As much as I complain about my style. Admittedly I haven't put as much effort into brushes, beyond the basics.

I'm not sure if this is an art trick, but for me it's adding backgrounds in my panels, no matter how simple ^^ The lines don't even need to be perfect, and sometimes you even need only a couple of lines; as long as the person looking at it feels a sense of space in that panel, and it's clear in what kind of environment my characters are in. This motivated me to add backgrounds in my panels whenever I feel it's needed, and it actually made me more comfortable with drawing larger, more complicated backgrounds as I kept drawing them ^^

Pretty often!

When I first started using Krita instead of CSP I was motivated to draw a lot (not really a new technique, but new "medium" I guess since the kind of look I felt I could get from each program was different).

When I did the comic from this thread5 I found a new way of inking that was faster, more enjoyable, and looked better (IMO) than what I used to do, which inspired me to start another comic after that (incidentally I completed around 2/3 of that one, then proceeded to burn out hard and not work on it for a couple months lol)

Recently, discovering a new way of coloring has me motivated to draw more too  after I finish a bunch of other stuff

When I learned how to draw with dip pens
I always love the traditional ink look, and it's very pretty to look at, in my opinion :3

Ironically, I don't care for inktober XDD
