Moving from Webtoon to Tapas after my content was reported! Feelin lonely! (also, anyone else gone through something similar and want to connect?)

Sorry to hear about that. I know someone that had plans about posting his comic to webtoons and was worried about his stuff getting taken down. It doesn't seem webtoons is very creator friendly nor allows creator freedom :(.

What's more confusing is that featured creators can get away with it, they be drawing so much "mature" content and not even the "18+" warning pops up
("Let's play" for example)

I recently put up an NCC page on Webtoon that required a trigger warning. It wasn't for violence, but I'm a little nervous now...

Yep. Really strange and selective. I emailed them asking why my comic was censored, and I got an automated message saying all the creative ways I can censor nudity/gore. All of which... I had done.

YES I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS!!!! In my research before I started, I looked over all the popular webtoons to make sure they weren't taken down for the same stuff I would be doing. Thought I was totally safe because of that, but nope.

Well it's great you've got a following on Tapas to fall back on, if webtoon does go crazy! If you want, you can send me some of the stuff you're nervous about, and we can try to compare it to mine and generally decode the webtoon policy together.

Yeah I get censored all the time. It sucks. In my case it's always about blood. Webtoons is absurdly encouraging childish phobias about blood and I think that people would do better to be able to look at blood dispassionately if only because one day you might have to stop someone's bleeding until an ambulance arrives. I've got shipwrecks and earthquakes and riots and executions and black magic going on in my comic and without the color red there's this massive disconnect from reality. I'm like a 1970's PG rating for my comic. It's not a gore-fest. So I post a teaser for the censored episodes and send people to tapas or my website instead. The constant threat of censorship means I don't feel like I can trust Webtoons and I don't try to build readership on their site. I try to discourage it actually, because I know that there's no future for my comic there. Anyways, sorry to hear your comic has been targeted by busybodies.

Unique art style deserves a chance to be recognized, I feel kind of confused about the worldbuilding, I'm not sure if they are humans, maybe because I feel that the chapters are too short to explore each subject exposed on each chapter, slice of life are perfect to explore the worldbuilding, I hope to see more.

i'm so sorry :(( my favorite media is the type that features darker themes like that..... and I want more platforms to offer places for that!!! I was considering doing the censored thing for webtoons, but in the end I decided that the graphic stuff is essential to the story. And it's awful that webtoon censors stuff like that, because it's not like it's gratuitous.... but yeah I hope you're finding your place here and you don't have to worry abt censorship!! :))

Ahhh I like you art!! Checking out your comic! I think your character design is sick, also :DD

Yeah, my first few episodes explain absolutely nothing at all, which is why I need to upload the rest of my completed ones asap. For some reason I thought being thrown in blind would be a good idea x) and then gradually dive deeper as it goes on. although it's definitely one of those comics where you're just along for the ride for a little bit. (I am very proud of the overall plot development that will emerge in a few months lol, so I am convinced subbing is worth it eventually) These are also so far not my best, those chapters are from March ;-;

The entire story/characters came from a very bad sleep paralysis episode last year. So there are some core concepts that make zero sense.

I don't think the occasional vomit indiscretion shot merits as much censorship as blood and gore, and I did include a warning, so I'm not too worried.

I'm sorry to hear that. And i kinda understand what you're going through.
I uploaded my comic on webtoon and despite all the promotions, i never got a single viewer. Maybe it's because of my location(Nigeria), I have no idea.

I have had to deal with webtoon. I deleted reuploaded after I sent an email detailing how their promoted webseries have people being chopped with an ax and all I had was a gun pointed at someone (aka I have proof about this rule). I didn't hear anything since.

That's true. In their policy here's really nothing about disturbing content other than nudity/violence.... which I think is a good thing, in its own way, because I like a healthy amount of disturbing content in all media and I think it's good to be explored, so I really don't want webtoon to be taking it ALL down. But it does strike me as odd that they'd be so strict about the slightest bit of blood or partial nudity but not other things that could even be potentially way more triggering to certain people....

But yeah, wishing you the best!!! none of us here deserve censorship ;-;

your comic is cool !!! i feel like you've really mastered contrast while coloring in black and white!!! and I'm so glad you're getting some recognition on here. Everyone says engagement on webtoon is better, but i've found that is not at all the case in many circumstances (i haven't reached the following I had on webtoons yet, but I have a feeling I'll surpass it pretty soon!!)

webtoons will allow anything only if it's making them money it's really infuriating.
