I like to listen to music while adding on to my stories. So multiple questions here... what type of music do you listen to while working? What is your favorite type of music? Who is your favorite artist?

I'm writing my novel now and I listen to music a lot when writing. It helps so much with the inspiration for my stories. Some of my favorite artists are Nickelback, Evanescence, Linkin Park, Red, Three Doors Down, and many more. My taste in music varies because I like a little of everything. The type of music I don't listen to as much is some screaming ones.

Depends on the comic I'm working on and my mood at the moment. I could be listening to anime OSTs, lofi hiphop or, some post-hardcore bands..

I'm a nerdy otaku loser :grinning:, so I listen to songs from video games and various anime.
I'm actually listening to Bye Bye Yesterday right now.

I listen to a lot of chillstep and ambient.

I also listen to epic music and trap for certain moods.

Depends on the mood I'm going for.

Personally I can't listen to music while writing scripts or panelling since I can't concentrate, but when I'm actually drawing I really like listening to low key music such as lofi hip hop or jazz in the background.
I recommend this channel if anyone else is into that:

I love making playlists for characters and listening to those when drawing comics. Its the best feeling in the world when a song perfectly matches up with your story.

I tend to listen to mostly pop and kpop. Not very loyal to one specific artist lol
heres my comic if anyone is curious :stuck_out_tongue: (shamless self promotion i apologize)

I can't really concentrate if I have music on while writing. But do like to listen to it while I'm drawing. Usually something like electro swing or alt. rock. But it does varies depending what I'm feeling like that day.

Usually video game music or film soundtracks.
I also like listening to my favorite bands, majority of them Japanese or Korean groups. I don't really have just one favorite artist, though. I like them all (although I'm naturally partial to some). Bands that are in my "repeat" playlist are andymori, ogre you asshole (great name btw), beast, and heize.

I ALWAYS listen to music while I work on a project. The type of music I listen to changes though, mostly depending on the mood I'm in or the mood I'm wanting to convey in my story.

I listen to a variety of music ranging from screamo/heavy metal to classical. Recently, I've been listening to classical and chill step.

A few of my favorite artists are Rise Against, The Word Alive, Crown the Empire, Crywolf, Koven, Josh A., Mattia Cupelli, and Ludovico Einaudi.

Was just listening to the new Gorillaz album, while starting to work on pages for the 3rd chapter of my webcomic. I dont always listen to music- sometimes I'll use the TV as background noise while I work on pages...just so happened that I didnt want to hear or look at the TV today.

My music list on my phone has reached 800+ ad still counting... (a little low, because I deleted the songs at times).

I listen to a lot of genre in random, form classical to metal. Basically as long as I think the beat and lyric is great, I will keep it. For artist preference, I don't particularly have any that I 'love', but I really like Troye Sivan and A Rocket To The Moon.

I think it depends on what I'm drawing, but for my webcomic, I like my "cutest moe EDM Kawaii beats to relax and study to" :joy:

Otherwise, I like spooky/fantasy musics. Something with an ethereal ambiance makes me feel very creative <3

I rarely listen to music while working on art. It can be distracting. I play piano so sometimes Ill listen to some jazz. Usually Oscar peterson and Joshua redmon just to get me in work mode

I often just have the TV on in the back, when drawing, just to have some noise. When I listen to music when drawing I get very easily distracted. That being said, when I'm in the mood to liten to music, when drawing, I tend to listen to music without vocals. I tend to sing a long, which - again - would be distracting. ^^ So I pull out my movie soundtracks, game soundtracks, electro swing remixes by great youtubers and then I start. At the moment my favourites include the Jet Set Radio OST and Undertale Electro Swing Remixes. When it comes to more epic music the Akira Soundtrack is an all time favourite

Epic Music Mix, any video on YouTube. Enough said :stuck_out_tongue:

Sometimes asian epic music, or celtic or etc..

It's like your story is in a movie...It's amazing.

And ofc sometimes normal music, but as my story is epic I usually use that

I always draw while listening to music, unless someone’s using my headphones, which happens quite often XD.
I love listening to musical cast recordings, now I’m listening to Anastasia’s, the Hunchback of Notre Dame and Dear Evan Hansen. Yep, I’m kinda a musical theatre nerd.
On the other hand I also listen to punk/pop and rock songs. My fav bands a Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the disco (I’m obsessed with LA Devotee right now) Imagine Dragons and Bastille.

I actually HAVE to play music while writing, as each of my chapters is loosely based on a song from the protagonist's mix cd. It takes place in the late 90's so all the music is from '99 or earlier. This is the latest chapter but I think every chapter is fun, I hope you can check it out!

Check out "Chapter 8: Seether" from The Kursed.

I'm apparently still stuck in the mid 2000's cause I listen to a lot of MetalCore, CrunkCore, Electronicore....just pretty much anything that ends in the word "core". IE A LOT of Nu Metal. However, I also listen to a lot of Alt rock, Pop Rock....like the softer stuff. Like SafetySuit, Parachute...etc.

I'm really random with my music. I'll literally go from listening to Hollywood Undead, to SafetySuit, and they really couldn't be much more different types of music if they tried.
