Name the last technical difficulty you had making your comic

Its been awhile since I posted a topic or anything at all in the forums.

But seriously digital artists. We've all had them and will continue to have them. What was the last thing your device or software did wrong to you while working on your series?

For me. It was when I was finishing up page 7 of Chapter one. I was putting in the text of the speech bubbles which is done in Paint 3D cuz Sketchable doesnt have a text option. And for no reason at all the program did not want to let me save it. I couldnt do anything. So i had to log out of it and lose all my dialogue. had to type it all again. Fun.
So what was your last tech issue making your comics?

F​cking Cortana popped up on my computer and couldn't close because it was stuck listening for a voice command. The window was covering all of my important things and I had to restart my computer to close it.

I draw using a tablet, but for some unexplained reason, my mouse just started moving and clicking by itself leaving these circular blobs of black all over the canvas. This happened every 5 minutes or so. Needless to say, I was pissed. And that's the wired mouse.
My wireless mouse turns off by itself EVERY 3 SECONDS, if there is no input. So I have to turn the mouse over, flip the switch off and on again to start it up. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Over the course of a day, you can understand how frustrating it can be.
So yes, I'm getting a new mouse. Because this pre 2010's office mouse has definitely reached the end of its lifespan.

My computer battery decided for some reason to die last week while I was drawing and now that laptop has a faulty ass battery. Lost my damn drawing. I got a new laptop since then and had to transfer all my drawing files to it with my flash drive.

Rage and sadness.

I couldn't update my website today because the server was having issues.

I've been using Inkscape to make my comic for years, but the nwest version has serious bugs in it. Every noe and then it crashes for no reason. I close one window and suddenly it crashes and takes all the rest of my work with it. (Thank the maker for autosave).

My mac likes to randomly just shut off on me, fortunately I'm a habitual hotkey saver so I don't usually lose much. Been having chronic neck pain that's been making drawing hard as of late too.

Photoshop has a cap on doing Save for Web past images 8192 px tall. So I have to use croppy. Really wish I didn't have to use croppy. But, every single Photoshop forum and complaint post where people bring this up, there's these angry posters who are like "the intention of Save for Web is to Save for Web, why are you doing huge ass pictures blablabla" and it's like yo it's 2020, and people have phones with huge ass vertical space, and if you don't give me a better way to crop and slice than save for web--then you sure as hell better do it. But then you still get people who are like "do a work around by displaying it in a web browser and then save it from your web browser" and it's like...what DARK AGES nonsense is this? Do you you seriously do that every time you save for web???

Anyway, I'll just use croppy until someone invents a very simple script to impliment into Photoshop. Wish I could just do this script myself but alas I only know like simple C++

My laptop has the tendency to crash sometimes. And for some reason I developed a fear for that, which sometimes even prevents me from working on my comics at all :')

Moire effects from screentones. (*I use Photoshop effects) When i thought i got the moire problem eliminated by using a specific angle slant, but In the end moires can still appears in certain resizing or viewing zoom. (mine is still a lot less serious than a lot of other B&W comics though)

A larger dot-size screentones can help but i don't really like that much.

My Photoshop suddenly froze up after I clicked Save for Web and it turned out that I forgot to use the Slice Tool before clicking Save for Web.

my technical difficulty poverty is that I'm broke
I have a 6 years old Wacom intuos S that wrecks my hand and shoulder when I draw for hours, and it's almost impossible to not draw a wonky lineart with how much small it is

Oh boy was this last chapter troublesome!

Perhaps not a technical issue but I was making it during my summer intensive classes so I could graduate this next semester (otherwise, I'd have to course another period on 2021), but while these courses were relatively easy when we had regular classes, this zoom courses where just more demanding, or at least they made more anxious.

Going to more "technical" issues, the chapter ended up being three pages longer, with more complex drawings that took more time than expected, and it also made Sai slower when loading them and even crashed a few times when coloring the pages (I color four at the same time in the same file and then make individual files for each page)!
So i had to postpone the third chapter three weeks more!

Nonetheless, were I to have more time, the chapter would have been finished by a week after what I had planned, but here we are...

Most recent thing that comes to mind is:

I've recently started drawing a comedy strip for a DND campaign I'm in, and this is the first comic that I'm just straight up drawing in vertical scroll format. I didn't really have a good idea of what original canvas size to use for the first one (prior to shrinking it down for eventual Tapas and Webtoons posting) so for the first strip I made the file wayyyyy too big, big enough such that I had to save it as some alternate not PSD file format.

But what ended up happening is when I tried to reduce the size to save a PNG to share to my friends the program crashed trying to downsize it so far. Thankfully I had saved right beforehand so I didn't lose any progress, but I tried like 3 times and it kept crashing.

So I eventually uploaded the file to google drive, transferred it over to my work computer which I have at home currently for the whole pandemic thing and was able to open it in Photoshop there and downsize it since this computer has quite a bit more oomph than my laptop lol. I've since been starting with a smaller sized canvas so that my laptop can handle downsizing them.

Related but different, while I have my work computer that has Photoshop on it at home I would have liked to simply used this more powerful desktop for my art rather than my laptop while i had the chance but... It's a mac and doesn't have a HDMI port, which my screen tablet needs to do it's main thing ;[ I have a USB only tablet but it has like 1/8 the pressure sensitivity levels of my newer screen tablet so i only use it only when traveling or for emergencies. Ah well.

A pencil I had to sharpen but no sharpener + my daughter loosing my black pen = a three hours flight planned for sketching wasted...

ok ok ok, I'm out and back into my cavern... (damn I feel old today)

(sidenote: @emmaemeh2011, financing definitely is a major technical obstacle, but eventually you might find that time is even harder to find than money!)
