I'm a huge fan of surrealism and dadaism, particularly of artists like Dali, Picasso, and their contemporaries.

I'm massively in love with Kaneoya Sachiko and she's influenced my work quite heavily...

Intense, moody lighting? Heavy lineart and shading? Sickly and existential concepts? Kaneoya-san is responsible for half of my art aesthetic. We also share a tendency to fixate on a specific set of "muse" characters... I mean, most of my original art is of Lladro or Defeat so...

I freak out over very cartoony, chunky art style like Mochamura's earlier works:

I absolutely love "Western" style cartoon artwork, but the more fluid kind that allows for a lot of expressiveness and squash/stretch. I also love semi-anatomical cartooning with exaggerated designs but bodies that are more grounded in reality.

I like realism (in traditional arts, in comics, everywhere), and, of course, social realism. I don't know why, i just really like all these old soviet/communistic paintings, they're beautiful.

I don't know if I have a favorite art style, apart cubism and contemporary, I like everything.
But comic Wise, I do have a thing for Enki Bilal works.

And there are also SO MANY awesome art styles I've seen on Tapas that I couldn't list them all, but here's a few of my favorites -

Fany, and her glowing, ethereal style that makes the light seem to have substance

"The Sixth Dalai Lama" by Ze Zhao - mixes manga style with reaaally well-done watercolor, wow!

Dawg, I'm pretty sure most on the forum are already aware of her art, but she's super good at gesture / expression and takes amazing advantage of limited color schemes

Haley Newsome/Mewsome / Lavender Towne - and her adorable cartoony style which also uses color really well

One of my biggest inspirations is the French artist MiniLudvin https://www.instagram.com/miniludvin/?hl=en

I love her whimsical style. The way her characters look so alive and playful, yet simply designed.

As well, the work of Jake Wyatt. Whose art I actually don't reference enough. His work is so pristine and concrete. He gives so much detail in such subtle ways. Something that I probably will never achieve through my own style, but remarkable all the same.

Art nouveau (Mucha, Klimt, Guimard and others... )
I love the curves, the feminity and the feeling of intimacy of this art movement, the fact that the inspiration comes from flowers and nature, it just breathes the pleasures of life.

Art déco
I know it way less than the art nouveau, but art déco is regarded as the "manly" version of art nouveau. Straight lines and angles. It gives a feeling of .... oddly being satisfied because all the geometry looks perfect? (I don't know how to explain it xD)

That's something else but there's an artist that left a mark for me : H R Giger.
I've always been fascinated by his art, I still can stay in front of one of his work for a long time, trying to understand it.

I love the Renaissance artstyle, as well as some surrealism, pop art, and the classic styles of Pre-renaissance Disney movies. Oh! And the good ol' 1940s hand-drawn art style of Looney Tunes and other classics like that. It feels like living art come to life every time I tune in, and it gives the characters more freedom to emote.
