Hey guys. I'm struggling trying to find the right sort of font for my comic. Up until now pages have been silent so I'm sorta stuck at this point. People keep saying to me "Oh well it's anime, just use an anime font". Problem is, anime fonts are very heavy, bold and in all caps. It's not an action story, it doesn't fit.

These are the pages I have for an idea of the art style: https://tapas.io/episode/7239276

What I'm trying to find is something that's not in all caps, something that's not thick (bold font), something with maybe a little flair in the sense of calligraphy/ gothic styles but more importantly is legible. So far what I've found is Comic Neue ( a sexy updated version of comic sans) which is pretty decent, but not still not a perfect fit.

Some suggestions based on looking through the handwritten fonts on 1001 Fonts. I was mostly thinking something close to the traditional comic font, or what you have above, but with a slightly more hand lettered feel would match up with your comic. They might not be quite delicate enough, but I'd certainly test these out and see how they look on the page if it was me. ((Actually, I might download some of these, I like them :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: ))

I use a font called Monsterrat, which I think a lot of webcomic artists use because it pretty much fits into whatever kind of comic you're making. (also it's available pretty much everywhere, including google docs ^_^)
